As long as you only have 1 overstay in the last 3 years it won't cause any problems. I was accepted with overstay in my passport.

SETV and METV give you that amount of time quite easily.

Thailand's visa regulation is IMO very relaxed. All they require is that you obtain the correct visa that fits your purpose in the country.

I can't think of any country that let tourists stay forever, and Thailand is no exception.

If you have the paperwork in order, there shouldn't be any problems.

Besides the long waiting time, I have never encountered any issues there.

It is my understanding that a tourist visa doesn't guarantee you entrance to Thailand.

The government don't want people to live in the country on exemption and Tvs.

unlimited entries by air, 2 over a land border per calendar year.

No 6 entries or 180 day rule exist.

I know. If they did he would probably be applying through the Evisa site, and not the Embassy in Sydney. 🙂

At the evisa website It's on the list. If the requirements are different in Australia I do not know

No.

After you have signed the papers from your school, they will send them to the ministry of education for approval. When approved, they will send them back to your school. With the documents in hand, your passport and some passport pictures you are ready to apply for the visa.

Very few language schools can get your tourist visa/visa exempt converted to an ED visa inside the country. Duke in BKK is one of the exceptions, but they don't have a school in Phuket, so they are of no use to you.

I do not know if any schools here in Phuket can convert inside the country, but you can ask about it in a Phuket forum.

If you can convert inside the country, you just go to the local immigration and hand in your application.

If you need to convert outside, you will have to travel to an embassy outside the country to apply for the visa (you will have to stay 1 or 2 nights)

Hope that made it more clear 😃

I can see the upsides of using an agent for certain types of visas or tasks, but there are no benefits of contacting an agent when obtaining a genuine ED. Find a school and take it from there. 🙂
