I think some have due to medical situations. That is really the only acceptable excuse. Don’t blacken your record.

Once you land. Nobody will allow you to get lost. Everything is signed simply for all nationalities.

Before immigration:

Get Google or AI to tell you what 180 days is. So you can calmly check your stamp.

At Immigration:

Make sure they know DTV. Show page or print out before passport page.

Don’t worry. You did the hard bit!

I have it in my passport. But those that have laminated the e-visa have no problem. You are far less likely to loose (or damage) if laminated.

Re: paperwork. I would have thought a signed letter from the parents stating their child is in your care and they give permission for you to make medical decisions on their behalf. Alongside photocopies of both parents & child’s passports also signed will be enough for all possible situations.

Make sure this teen has correct insurance and you having the details will be vital.

Maybe make sure parents tell insurance company that you are ‘in charge’ and to accept your calls etc.

Hope you all have an amazing time!!!!

If she wants to stay with you for 6 months she could enter on a pre-arranged tourist visa or visa exemption on arrival.

She would only need to do 1 boarder bounce half way through (alongside extensions)

Sounds like her parents could time their visit to assist with her leaving the country at 90 days. .

Seems like a lot of unnecessary paperwork and money to get 2 DTVs for this scenario.
