I have applied for the DTV, however I was requested for additional documents for which I need help because I don't know what to add:

1. I'm a business owner "Employment contract or employment certificate in their country or professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status : professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad"

2. I've been in my home country for the past 6+ months "Document indicating current location (e.g., valid visa, receipt(s)/proof(s) of payment of airline tickets or accommodation, etc.)"

Hi. I am a uk passport holder and will be applying for my DTV in Switzerland as I will be staying with family there. Does anyone have any experience of Swiss processing times etc and what proof can I send to show current location ? Thanks

What is the best proof of location document to use for the Sydney embassy?

Applying for my DTV from my home country (Australia) since I'm here visiting family until the end of January.

Thing is I'm no longer a resident here (I work in Hong Kong). I'm going to use my valid Australian driver's license. Will this be enough?

Because when I'm here in Sydney I live with my parents and don't have utility bills under my name. Ones under my name are bills in HK.

DTV Workation Approved

I joined looking for info and advice, I took what I could, filtered as much as possible and then prepared.

I used ChatGPT to help me refine and prepare my documents and application.

I made sure I provided exactly what was necessary and in a way that was easy to read.

I applied for my Workation DTV in Hanoi

I arrived of Friday the 2nd, I had already uploaded everything except proof of location.

I put the info together and all documentation for proof of location.

On Saturday 3rd I submitted my online application.

On Monday the 5th, my status read “processing”

On Tuesday the 6th my status read “pending approval.

Today on Friday the 9th DTV Approved.

To all the trolls —- up yours, don’t comment if you dont know what you’re talking about

PS: I only transferred my money across 2 weeks ago, I still gave 3 months statements, my final balance was more than the 500k and I used a transaction list for December because my December statement wasnt ready yet.

I get no income because I started a new business.

💵 The full 500,000 baht was only in my bank for around 10 days before I applied, I transferred the remainder of my savings to meet the requirement so you don’t need 500,000 for 3 months in a row in Hanoi.

✖️No additional documents required so I thought I would lay out on here what I submitted to help anyone needing it, some posts on here really helped me so..

📑Financial PDF

1. A cover letter stating why I was training, be a little enthusiastic about Thailand and the Thai people. State anything they might question, for me i transferred 70,000 baht roughly 10 days before applying to meet the 500,000. I told them this is from my savings. I also stated I’m currently doing an English course and wish to teach online to help support myself during my course, I then thought they would reject me for this as many people told me you cannot work on a soft power DTV, but it clearly isn’t a problem. Make sure you state you will not work for thai people or a thai company while in thailand as this is illegal.

2. I showed them 4 bank statement as Decembers didn’t show any activity, with Septembers showing less than half of the requirement. My account was also not being used after early November as I was transferring my savings from another account to my Monzo to avoid ATM fees, I told them this. I highlighted the end balance for each month and submitted all pages not just the first page.

3. I used ex.com to convert my end balance into baht, I screenshot this on my Macbook and highlighted the conversion and the date and time in the top corner.

📑 Proof of Location PDF

1. A cover letter stating where you are, address it to the embassy with their address and the address of your hotel too. State everything about your intentions of travel. My hostel was booked until the 14th and I wasn’t accepted until the 16th so I stated my stay can and will be extended until I received a response. I also stated my intended date of departure was on the 21st to ensure I had plenty of time for a response.

4. Photo outside of my hostel (if you swipe up on Iphone you can screenshot the date and time with it)

5. Photo of my room key with my passport

6. Atm receipt with the last few digits of my bank card matching the receipt with my name

📑 Soft Power PDF

1. I just uploaded the already combined PDF my gym sent me, it had certificates, a receipt of my payment, photo copies of IDs etc etc

📌 Helpful Application Points

1. Address Information: I was very confused about this, after reading what people did on here I put my Vietnam hostel as the first address, I then chose “no” to the “is your permanent address the same as your current address” and I added my home address in the UK.

2. Passport Place of Issue: I wasn’t sure if this meant the authority, for me it was “HMPO”, or the country it was issued in. ChatGPT told me to write HMPO but many people on here wrote the country so I wrote United Kingdom.

3. Intended Date of Arrival / Departure: My intended date I just made up, make sure you leave enough time to actually receive a response (2 weeks I would say) this is just intended, you don’t need to book anything but you do need a flight number, if you just search a flight on this date, I used VietJet and they have the flight numbers up before booking.

3. Employment: I stated I am unemployed, because I am. But in my financial letter I wrote that I am doing a course and intend to work online in the future and this was no problem.

📌 PDF Help

1. I airdropped my photos / scans from my iphone to my macbook and saved them as PDFs. I then used the thumbnail tool on my mac and dragged and dropped the documents I needed to create each PDF.

2. The 3 PDFs all have to be 3MB or less each. My PDF from the gym was below this and so was my financial PDF, but my proof of location wasn’t. I signed up to Adobe for the 7 day free trail, uploaded it and it just shrunk it for me, so easy to do. I then cancelled the subscription.

Hello guys I wanted to share my experience applying for the workation DTV in Jakarta.

Timeline:

Arrived in Jakarta on 20.October 25

6 am and immediately applied online. And payed around 11-12k THB but in IDR.

30.October 25: Status changes from document check pending to pending approval.

Maybe 5 hours later it changed to approved am I got the email.

Documents used:

Proof of funds:

Bank statements from Revolut showing 13.5k in EUR which is a little more than 500k THB for 4 months (think 3 really is enough but I did it for 4 months just to be save)

Proof of location:

I prepared a pdf with following things:

- screenshot of flight booking

- screenshot of hotel booking

- Picture of boarding pass

- Picture of visa on arrival + passport (you have to pay the visa on arrival on a separate booth before the immigration. If you show the visa to the officers you will get a stamp in the passport if you use the machines no stamp but you still have the slip from visa on arrival)

- Picture of a slip from a purchase at the airport and my ID on the same picture.

Portfolio:

- Cover letter explaining why I want to do workation why Thailand all data of company like tax registration no. How long its registered name of website.

- Screenshots of my website with the services I offer

- CV

You only can upload one PDF for portfolio so I put all in one file and converted it to PDF.

Hi all, thank you for your help. What do we submit for proof of location if applying from Vietnam or another country outside your home country. Do we just show our hotel booking and flights or what? Because obviously our drivers license, utility bill ect wouldn't help. Thank you!

What’s the delay in average ?

And any advice of what type of extra documents should I provide to avoid them asking me for more documents ? (I’m doing workcation)

Soft Power APPROVAL at Jakarta Embassy

Applied: September 20

Documents Requested: October 1 (All pages of passport — uploaded same day)

Approved: October 2

Here's what I included in my application.

PROOF OF FINANCES

- A cover letter with: 1) a bullet list of the documents included, 2) a statement that clearly affirms I will not work for any Thai businesses, and 3) a note of what sources of income I have.

- Bank statements for the last three months. Over 500k baht seasoned only for the last two statements.

- A screenshot showing the conversion of the final total balance on my last bank statement to baht.

PROOF OF LOCATION

- A cover letter with a bullet list of the documents included

- Flight reservations

- Boarding passes

- Hotel reservations

- Visa On Arrival

- Limited Stay Permit

PROOF OF ACTIVITY

- A cover letter with: 1) a bullet list of the documents included and 2) a summary of the soft power activity I'll be doing.

- Documents for the one-year seminar package with Discover Thai Nature.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

- I am a U.S. citizen. For passport place of issue, I put "UNITED STATES"

- I put "unemployed" with income under $20k on the application.

- There's a space in my name on my passport. I've never submitted my name with a space on any document or form ever and I've never had an issue with it before. But I decided to copy it exactly and include the space just in case.
