The government/immigration can and probably will revert back to the 30 day visa exempt very soon (in my opinion) due to abuse it's had from those trying to live here without the correct visa.

Is it not a requirement for a visa extension to also have the funds in the account 3 months after the extension only after that you can withdraw down and not go below 400k (or 200k for a marriage visa).

It's great your trying to plan ahead , however the Thai immigration can change the 60 day visa exempt overnight back to 30 days so don't bank on the 60 day VOA.

So I'd personally be looking doing it correctly and get yourself a tourist visa for each entry.

it might be valid for 3 years , however it's only valid for 90 days everytime you enter Thailand so if you've been in Thailand for 90 consecutive days it's then void and only starts again once you've left and returned. Please don't get caught out on that one Jay.

Look at a tourist visa which will give you 60 days plus extention of 30 days

Yeah yeah yeah everyone is going to say just visa exempt but thats the correct way of doing multi entry and therefore you won't get pulled at immigration because you have the correct visa.

😂 I've been doing this method for the past 6 years and just did our extension of stay last month. Or is it because we're British?

incorrect. If you are married to each other then only 1 of you needs the 800K in a Thai bank. You need to get the marriage certificate verified by your embassy, translated into Thai and verified by the ministry of foreign affairs. Doing this means 1 of the married couple qualifies as a "dependent" to the other. So you don't have to keep 1.6 million in a Thai bank.
