Hi all, sorry but I can't see the answer in the feed.

Uk passport.

So, already in Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa which expires 6th January. Question is, to extend this do I need to leave and return on a 30 day exemption or to immigration office to pay.

We will be in ko lanta when it is due expire.

We will not need ร  further extension as work is looming.

Advice welcome.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder currently in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa, expiring on January 6th, can extend their visa by visiting a local immigration office in Krabi for a fee of 1,900 baht. Alternatively, they can leave Thailand and return on a 30-day visa exemption, but it is recommended to extend the current visa before traveling to Koh Lanta.

The 30 days are added to your current stamp, so there's no penalty and is easiest done before you get to Lanta

You can extend usually with no more than 30 days left on your stamp, do it before you go to Koh Lanta if easier

You can extend at a local immigration office office for 1,900 baht. I believe you use the Krabi office for Koh Lanta

If you come to Koh lanta via krabi anyway Iโ€™d do the extension on the way here. Saves you a trip off the island (which can take most of day with the ferries and such.)

You can do the extension at any point with less than 30 days left on your current stamp.
