TLDR : Answer Summary
To fulfill the 90-day immigration report requirement for your DTV visa while on Phi Phi Island, you have several options. You can visit the nearest immigration office where your TM30 is registered, which is likely in Krabi Town. Alternatively, you can report online if that option is available, which some users recommend as the easiest method. It's noted that there isn't a stamp requirement, just the report itself.

you need to do the first one in person

Not quite correct. You can do the first one (and any other one) by mail. I'm old school, that's how I always do it. If you do it online and it's rejected, the window for postal notification is closed

is that definite? Is that Krabi immigration office for Phi Phi? Or if I go somewhere else beforehand then it will be closest immigration office to where I am? eg Phuket

Anonymous participant I do not know which Immigration Office it is for Phi Phi but if it is Krabi where your TM30 is registered go there. If you go somewhere else and your TM30 is registered then go to that office. I know it depends on office but earlier in year a French couple in queue right in front of me got refused for the 90 Day as they had no TM30. They were staying in friends condo and had no idea about it.

there is no stamp requirement… there is just the 90 day report which can be done at an immigration office…. Krabi Town… or depending on your planned next travel out of the country you might ignore it.

can’t you just fly out somewhere and then come back ?

that is one choice but more effort than going to immigration office just for the 90 day report.
