Hi All, both me & my partner are looking at the DTV for soft power cooking classes. We meet all other requirements such as financial, flights & accomodation, we will be applying from our home country the UK. I am looking for any reccomendations on cooking classes in Khao Lak (or near to) for the DTV as I would like to ensure we enroll to a reputable business- thank you in advance 😊

Hello

Unfortunately my application has been rejected in Hanoi

DTV Soft power thai cooking 6month course with House of Taste Bangkok

French passport

Applied 13/08

Pending approval 14/08

Rejected 20/08

No other documents requested simply rejected.

Provided :

4month current account bank statement with more than 500k baht and saving account with more than 4 millions baht

Proof of location in Hanoi (booking, stamp, google maps shot, payment receipt)

School document (DBD, Proof of payment, class example and stuff)

Since they don't provide any explanation on why they reject your application I wonder what's my next best move.

Either I try to apply from HCMC/Jarkata embassy or I maybe change course to Muay Thai, go with an agent ?

DTV approved! Enrolled in House of Taste Thai Cooking School 👨‍🍳 [members only]/ I highly recommend them if you are going soft power route.

They are super fast to respond on WhatsApp and so nice. They quickly provided all the documents needed for the DTV and the LA Consulate did not ask for anything additional.

I’m so excited for my first class with a market tour next week! 😁

I can also confirm the LA Consulate is moving much faster now as my DTV was approved in 3 business days. Best of luck to everyone!

The approval of my DTV visa. I was never asked by Thai immigration to produce the DTV visa; they merely stamped my passport.

I paid less than 10,000 baht for the soft power (cooking class), but the price has already increased.

𝔻𝕋𝕍 𝕊𝕆𝔽𝕋 ℙ𝕆𝕎𝔼ℝ 𝔸ℙℙℝ𝕆𝕍𝔼𝔻!

Took only 4 BUSINESS DAYS, from Thai Embassy in HANOI. Amazingly short time, I couldn't be happier!

Went for the 6-month cooking class from "House of Taste Thai Cooking" (Bangkok) and I decided to go for a visa agent, as I have a long history of different visas in Thailand and was afraid not to be granted the DTV for this reason.

French passport here, started with border runs, then an ED visa, then some Tourist visas, and even despite owning a TV, I was stopped at Suvarnabhumi airport by the immigration agent for coming in & out too often, so I then decided to go for an expensive Elite / Privilege visa. That was 6 years ago, just before the Covid era.

Last week, instead of renewing my Elite visa (as I didn't see any rational reason for paying that much - 50x more, at least - for it, except maybe for being able to open some bank accounts), I simply went for the 'new' DTV and I have absolutely no regret! Applied on a Wednesday, approved on a Monday.

Good Luck to EVERYONE, Peace! :)

Looking to move to Hua Hin ASAP. Interested in a DTV opportunity in the area, but need some help. 37 year old mom who just had twin babies 8 months ago. Also, have 6 & 8 year old sons. Interested in Muay Thai for strength, health, and discipline. BUT, not looking to fight. Any recommendations? I also cannot cook to save my life, so open to the idea of a cooking school. Hoping to get approved for my visa fast, so I can load my kids on a plane before I chicken out and fall back into my mouse trap... 😬

Guys for DTV I can attend cooking class as I see right? But it just doesn't make sense to me since the cooking class is only for 1 day. Will I still get accepted?

I’m applying for a DTV visa for cooking classes in Thailand. The Thai/British Embassy requires the course to last at least one month. I’m being quoted 65k baht. £1500 for a one month course. No accommodation. Is this what you expect to pay.
