Hello, I entered Thailand by air and obtained a 30-day visa (French passport). Am I eligible for one or two extensions? If I am only eligible for one extension, can I do a visa run without any issues? Thank you for your kind responses.

I have a trip planned to thailand for 60 days and my plane is on monday (departure from paris).

I made a request for a tourist visa on october 7 and still didnt get it.

I fear that I will not receive a reply before my departure so I am now exploring my options on how to get to thailand and make sure I could board the flight and have the right to get in the country.

Is there anyone with a similar experience with a canadien or french passport ?

Hello, I will be coming to Thailand on a French passport for a stay of 86 days. (I came last year December & January for 65 days using visa exempt on arrival and then extending 30 days)

If I get a tourist visa, I can stay 60 days and then must leave the country, with the possibility to return for a stay of 30 more days.

If I come on visa exempt, I can stay my initial 30 days and then ask for an extension 30 days, then leave the country and return using visa exempt.

My question to the group is "which option is better?" (I am not trying to live in Thailand by using visa exempt or short term visas.)

If I use the visa exempt option, does it matter if I leave the country before the first 30 days are up, flying back in (from Cambodia) on visa exempt or if I leave after first 30 days plus 30 day extension and then re-enter on visa exempt?

I understand that all is at the discretion of immigration, but as a woman of a certain age, they generally do not suspect me of trying to game the system. And that is not what I am trying to do.

I plan to go to Penang to apply for my second Tourist Visa (ever and this year). I had 1 visa exempt entry last year and 2 this year (one without extension)

I have a french passeport.

Will it be no issue to make a tourist visa application at the Penang office?

Could it be better to do a visa exempt entry at Padang Besar or else 30+30 this time?

A friend is arriving in Thailand hoping to go with the visa exempt entry. As of now I heard this is still okay to enter for 30 days and then extend for another 30 days at immigration.

Is there any sort of policy change since the Nov 1 updates?

From Sep 18 onward, Thai embassy in Paris will issue real e-visas. No visit to the embassy, no passport sending anymore.

Hello everyone, I am going to enter Thailand with visa exemption (on French passport) in early September for a total of about 40 days. The extension of visa exemptions from stays of 30 days to 45 days ends September 31. I'll be leaving in October. Do I need to extend my visa while I'm there? Beforehand? Do I need to at all?
