Question about DTV Visa requirements 🙏

I would like to ask about the requirements for the DTV Visa.

From what I have researched, the DTV Visa is valid for 5 years, and the holder can stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per entry. After 180 days, it is possible to extend the stay for another 180 days. Once the total stay reaches 360 days, the holder can leave Thailand and re-enter using the same DTV Visa.

However, I have a question regarding the DTV for Soft Power activities, such as Muay Thai or cooking courses.

I previously contacted a Muay Thai school, and they told me that if I want to stay for the first 180 days, I need to pay around THB 28,000–30,000 for the course. After the first 180 days, if I want to extend my stay for another 180 days, I would need to pay for another course again. Then, after another 180 days, I would need to pay for another course again.

If this is the case, does it mean that throughout the 5-year validity of the DTV, I would have to enroll in and pay for a new course every 180 days, which could cost around THB 300,000 in total?

Or is the actual DTV requirement that I only need to enroll in the course once, obtain the required supporting documents/letter from the institution, and use them to apply for the DTV? Once the DTV Visa is approved and valid for 5 years, would I then be able to stay according to the DTV conditions without having to enroll in or pay for a new course every 180 days?

I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience or knowledge about the actual DTV requirements could clarify this for me. 🙏

I am particularly confused about whether paying for a new course every 180 days is an actual DTV requirement or simply a condition imposed by the particular school/institution.
Answer summary
The DTV Visa allows holders to stay in Thailand for 180 days per entry, with the possibility of extending for another 180 days. The user is concerned about requirements for Soft Power activities like Muay Thai or cooking courses, specifically whether they must pay for a new course every 180 days or if one enrollment suffices for the 5-year visa period. According to a comment, ongoing enrollment may be necessary for extension purposes, but this may not be strictly enforced at all entry points.

If you extend in country, you will have to have an ongoing course. As for having a course when you re-enter after the first course is finished, previously it was never really checked. Recently, there have been a few posts, especially about Phuket, where they want to see a book course when you are entering. This does not seem to be a requirement for everyone or at every entry point.
