For the DTV-holders out there who are having their account locked, is there a deadline to withdraw money mentioned when the bank phoned you? I know the sooner you show up that the branch the better, but I'm half an Earth away and could be costly (if possible at all) to book a plane that depart in a few day. Can I be there mid-June and still have access to my fund?

Could someone ask the bank for me, please? I called them yesterday but the lady didn't speak good English and refused to share more over the phone any way. I'm told to be physically at the branch with my passbook and passport.

I got a DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) about two weeks ago and had planned to fly to Thailand next week. Unfortunately, it looks like I won’t be able to make the trip.

With a regular tourist visa, you usually have to enter the country within 3 months — but this one says “valid from May 10 until…” and I’m not sure what that means exactly in terms of deadlines.

Does anyone know if my visa will become invalid if I don’t enter Thailand within those 3 months? Would appreciate any insight. 🙏

Went to Bangkok Bank, Koh Chang, this afternoon. Tried withdrawal but ATM said no. Went in Bank and they said account frozen . Had to go back with 5 year DTV visa, passport and the two year lease agreement we just signed on a house. Luckily they were happy with this and un-froze account.

Update on May 30: Still Processing, Pending Approval. Reminder-June 3 is a holdiay, so offices will be closed.

HCMC: Applied DTV soft power on Monday, status was Pending Document check until this afternoon and is now Processing, Pending Approval. My question is what is the likelihood of being asked for additional documents at this point? I’m trying to get a sense of how long the approval process will take. Thank you.

I have a DTV visa - before that I opened a bank account at Bangkok Bank using my previous visa - now they’re slowly closing accounts for foreigners and seem to only want wealthy clients - I’d really appreciate your advice on which bank still allows foreigners to open an account - having one here is important and very convenient for me.

Quick question -

I was asked the followings as extra documents to provide -

* "Document indicating current location: Documents without an English version is recommended to be translated at an official translation office in Vietnam. A financial statement is required, including bank transactions from the last 6 months and an account balance of at least 500,000 BHT."

I did share way more than that as a proof of funds in my Interactive Brokers accounts (financial institution). and I attached a proof of the ownership of such account under my name. I even highlighted the numbers and name... And yes, everything is in English.

Could someone explain me what am I missing? I might have skipped the bank statement for the previous 6 months, but even if I share it, I don't hold such sums on my checking account, it's not gaining any interest there...

Did anyone experience such thing? Would appreciate some wisdom...
