Does anyone know if I have insurance in the US and it covers emergencies anywhere in the world if I would still have to buy insurance in Thailand on long term visa. Yes I would have to pay and they reimburse. Showing enough funds in bank account to cover the 3 million policy isn’t a a problem.
Reports are appearing that Bangkok Bank have implemented a new policy for long term visa holders wishing to get a bank account balance certificate that’s needed for your extension.
They are now requiring that you have the money in your account (400 or 800k as per needed) for 4 MONTHS prior to requesting the certificate.
This is a bank policy and NOT a new immigration rule.
I have no idea the reasoning behind this policy and at this stage it appears that it’s Bangkok Bank ONLY.
Is there a means to convert a 60 visa exempt to a 12 month visa based on marriage whilst in Thailand?
My wife and her cousin went to the immigration office - more to obtain what is needed in terms of paperwork, and the lady was extremely helpful and kind and was going to do it, checked my passport. But wasnt concerned that i didn’t have a Type O visa but the fact I only had 7 days remaining before flying back to UK. She said I needed at least 30 days remaining.
I thought mmm, i wasn’t expecting that.
Im still planning on obtaining the Type O this October/November but wondered had anyone else been successful in trying.
Does anyone have an explanation for a residence certificate that I've been told is required to open a bank account. This isn't a TM30 I've been told....🙏🏼
Hello, regarding the recent news about bank accounts for foreigners, it is required to have a long-term visa to open a bank account. Is the ED visa considered a long-term visa?
Has anyone applied for the LRT(Long-Term Resident) visa type for 5+5 years? I plan to apply because i meet all the criteria, how long did the process take? As i understand, it is possible to apply both within Thailand and abroad through the embasy.
What routes have people taking to obtain this visa?
I'm thinking of the Muay Thai fighting gym route but I'm interested what else there is and what others have done
Being honest, I don't know if I could sustain that much training for five years
But I'm also confused about the five years. Can you stay ALL five years or do you have to leave for a fixed amount of time - like stay 180 days and leave 180 days before returning or can you return after 1 day, 30 days what ever?
I'm new to this so all and any info is helpful. Thanks!
