Just a quick question... I know that to get a retirement visa, you need a deposit of 800,000 baht in a Thai bank. Banks offer different types of accounts: current, savings, and fixed deposits. Fixed deposits offer better interest rates. Are any of the three types of accounts accepted for this visa? Thanks for every comments

Has anyone ever been REFUSED to exit Thailand??? Today I drove all the way from Korat to the friendship boarder in Laos .. my visa was good until the end of today so I’m not over staying .. I was to depart Thailand to go make a proper non o visa online while in Laos.. the female immigration officer refused to let me leave! Even having all the documents to support my intention of the Non O Visa.. She did mention about doing repeat visa runs, last entry I returned from China by air … which is fine I’m leaving to go get the proper visa. I understand not being let back in, but not being able to leave, she told me to go get a flight out. Also should mention the same thing happend to a few others while I was there.

I have done the re-entry permit at the airport in Bangkok for the first time and it was smoothe and easy

I highly recommend you to do it at the airport. You don’t loose days queuing in classic immigration centres

Arrived in Bangkok on November 29 for my second entry under the DTV Digital Nomad visa. I came in from Madrid after spending 90 days traveling through Europe and Latin America.

Entry was completely smooth—about 1 minute at immigration, no questions at all. Got the full 6-month stamp again. Sharing the update in case it helps others.

Hello. Looking for recommendations for health insurance. It will be for retirement in Thailand for myself and my wife. Both from UK and in our sixties and in fairly good health.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm on holiday at the moment. My question is: Can I pick up Rubbish on the side of the road using a pale or bag and not get in trouble? Do I need a work permit to do so?

Thai driving license advice please 🙏🏻

Hi everyone

I’m up in Kalasin (Bua Khao) and have tried to get a Thai driving license

The transport office tells me to go to the police station, the police station tells me to go to the transport office.

I have a non o spouse visa, yellow book, ID card, in date Australian License, and an in date International Permit.

Just after any info where I can get a Thai license without being scammed. So if you’ve used a service and are happy with the outcome could you PM me the details please 🙏🏻

Cheers 🍻

I acquired a single re-entry permit when I got my recent one-year extension of non-o visa.

I head for Suvarnabhumi in the morning - When I go through passport control, do I need to do anything or make sure they see the permit stamp in my passport?

I did a single re-entry permit once before, but that was done on-site at the airport, and they gave me a receipt that I presented at passport control going out. I'm just not certain about having the stamp already in the passport and it being accepted when I return in a few weeks. Thanks

OK, I know its early and things of course will change but I like to get things some what planned out.

I posted the other day that I am exploring doing the DTV visa via Muay Thai classes. Rather do that then the retirement visa (will be 50 when I arrive). The 500k baht not an issue (have that locked away already) will even be making over 100k baht a month while in Thailand. *I don't want to lock in 800k baht in a Thai bank, I have heard reports of the banks freezing foreign account holders accounts.*

Some additional questions that I have and hope to get answered.

DTV visa is a 5 year visa, do I need to stay enrolled in Muay Thai the whole time in Thailand?

The visa is good for 180 days, do the day restart everytime I come back to Thailand? For example I came in and 2 months later I go to Malaysia for 2 weeks, do I start my 180 days over again?

Is it difficult to get a Thai bank account with a DTV visa? Simply want to be able to move and access money without paying high transfer and ATM fees.

Thank you for any advice you can offer.
