Hi everyone 😁 ! I’m preparing for my DTV visa application for next week in Hanoi and have another question that seems to be ambiguous for many people.

I have French passport and there is no ā€œplace of issueā€ inside but I have these sections :

- a country code : FRA

- an Authority : PrĆ©fecture de l’Ille-et-Vilaine RENNES

(That’s in France but that seems really long…)

Some people say to just write you country of origin.

Please can French people or people who had a similar situation and already submitted and GET APPROVED advise me on this cause I read a lot of things and it’s unclear…

THANK YOU everyone šŸ˜ŒšŸ™ have a great day !

This might help someone. I am a Canadian passport holder in the Philippines. I applied for DTV digital nomad visa. Filled out the form and included my youtube channel and my English teacher profile from Cambly.

1st request for additional document. Last 3 months of finances. Not just a screen shot of my balance.

They also wanted to see my latest entry stamp to thr Philippines. I attached a photo and thr 30 renewal receipt

For proof of address I attached my airbnb receipt.

2nd time they requested proof funds again. looks like they only looked at the first page of the pdf that had e separate bank accounts)

This time I wrote a letter explaining over 700K THB between accounts that I have immediate access to. I also included my PayPal balance of 50K just in case

Tips: Provide multiple pdfs combined in 1 since it only allows you to upload 1 pdf.

Make it easy for them. I even converted thr CAD to THB

I got approved in 5 business days including the 2 request for documents

Arrived in January and planning on doing a 90 day report next month and wondering if I go there early enough could I also get a 180 day DTV extension? Are they even done at the same place? Hopefully its all within the same area where you get tourist visa extensions.

Hey guys,

When you do your 90 day report, do you also have to bring your rental contract with you to immigration?

Just thought I'd let everyone know about my border run experience. I got my DTV in August and did my 90-day report a few days early. i left Thailand a week before my 180-day mark, stayed out of the country for about 2 weeks and then came back to Don Meuang airport.

I paid for fast track service and when i got to the counter, the female immigration officer took one look at the DTV sticker in my passport and called over another female officer and showed the sticker to her. They talked for a minute and then the other officer asked me to come with her.

I followed her to a male officer who looked at my passport. They talked for a minute. Then the female led me to a desk with computers on it and asked me to sit down. She checked something on the computer and then asked me "what kind of DTV is this?". I told her "for work". She said "ok" and then checked something else on the computer. Then she stamped my passport and said "ok, finished" and motioned for me to leave. I wanted to ask her what that was all about but I didn't want to risk anything and I just wanted to get out of there. I left and went to my condo.

Everyone was nice and polite the entire time.

I have no clue what happened.

I'm so pissed off about some comments here. I've got the visa, I can work here remotely for overseas companies, I can pay taxes here, I can stay here for 5 years (with flights every 6 months). I don't have to pretend I'm a tourist, because I'm not, and it's clearly stated in my visa and my other documents. Period.

Are you a lawyer and want to force people to use your services? Why do you spread misinformation?

I initially submitted my application on March 6.

On March 8, I received a request for additional documents and sent them immediately.

Around March 11, my status changed to "Pending Approval," but there has been no update since then.

Once the status changes to "Pending Approval," does that mean there is no chance of rejection or cancellation?

People who applied around the same time have already received approval, but I haven’t yet, so I’m feeling a bit anxious.

We are looking to relocate to Thailand via the DTV soft power, ideally in May-June. We have the required funds and stable online income. Our plan was to go for 60 days under tourist visa, look at different areas and decide where we'd fit best as well as locating schools in that area. Then possibly flying to Vietnam to apply for the DTV. What do you do for housing without actually having a long term visa? Just rent short term, pay for classes and hope for the best? Just wondering everyones experiences, and recommended course of action.
