What does 'Pending Approval' mean for my visa application status in Thailand?

Mar 18, 2025
I initially submitted my application on March 6.

On March 8, I received a request for additional documents and sent them immediately.

Around March 11, my status changed to "Pending Approval," but there has been no update since then.

Once the status changes to "Pending Approval," does that mean there is no chance of rejection or cancellation?

People who applied around the same time have already received approval, but I haven’t yet, so I’m feeling a bit anxious.

same situation with you. I applied at February 12

Pending approval means just that. It generally means it's waiting for someone more senior to sign it off. They may come back with other questions or they may not

HCMC says 5-10 working days. If you submitted extra documents on 8 March, start counting from that date. I would not worry yet. A good chance you get it at the end of today.

Which country do you apply at?

Are you comparing your timeline with others who applied via the same embassy or just in general, because each embassy had a different timeframe used to approve visas. Some embassies take 5 days while others take 30 days. Also, so also explicitly state that if you need to submit new documents, the processing time/clock resets to 0 days since submission. It would therefore be helpful to know which embassy you applied via.

Yes, I did (in HCMC). Many people who applied for a visa on the same day already got theirs, while my status is still stuck in "Pending Approval."

Anonymous participant HCMC is supposed to be a 5 day turn around. Since today is 5 days from resubmission, hopefully you get it today or tomorrow. If not, you might want to reach out
