What is the feedback of recent DTV E–Visa applications submitted at the Thai Embassy in Manila?

Are there any seasoning of funds (minimum time period) requirements for the 500k for DTV E–Visa applications at Manila?

Is only submitting a Sponsorship/Guarantee Letter by the Primary DTV Visa Holder sufficient or does the Thai Embassy request recent Bank Statements of the Primary DTV Visa holder?

This is the most recent E–Visa Guidelines released from the Thai Embassy in Manila, dated 5 March 2025

🇹🇭 My Experience Getting the DTV Visa – Sharing My Journey

Hi everyone,

I just got my DTV Visa approved, and I wanted to share my experience to help those currently going through the process.

📍 Context:

* I live in Koh Samui, and after a visa extension, I decided to apply for the DTV Visa in Ho Chi Minh City.

## 🗓️ My Step-by-Step Process:

🔹 Monday, March 10 – Online Application Submission

Documents provided:

✅ Passport

✅ Proof of presence in Vietnam (*flight ticket, Vietnam visa, receipt from a local purchase*)

✅ Last 3 bank statements (*showing a balance of over 500K THB for more than 3 months*)

✅ Official company document (*translated into English*)

✅ Explanation of the company’s activities (*I specified that my business operates only in France*)

✅ 3 client contracts

🔹 Wednesday, March 13 – Additional Documents Requested

The consulate asked for:

🔹 Bank statements translated into English (*I translated them myself*)

🔹 A photo

🔹 A copy of all passport pages

🔹 Friday, March 15 – Returned to Thailand

I decided to return to Thailand while waiting for the final approval.

🔹 Monday, March 17 – Visa Approved at 10 PM! 🎉

A huge thank you to this community for all the valuable information shared. I hope my experience can help others going through the process! 💙

Good luck to everyone applying! 🙌

Hi! Question: I’m applying for DTV, my husband and I have a business in US. Do i need to get certified copies of our business registration and articles of incorporation? What others should I get to make sure smooth process of application. Both of us are owners but only 1 will apply for DTV and i understand the other will apply for the spousal visa under dtv. Any help is greatly appreciated.

“Hello everyone, I worked as a teacher in Thailand for a few years and have a Thai bank account with a balance, as well as ownership of a condo in Thailand. I resigned from my job on March 1st, 2025, and currently don’t have employment outside of Thailand. Am I eligible for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV)?”

Hello, everyone.

I would like to ask if this is okay with the Thai Immigration regarding the timeline of my stay here in Thailand.

60days🇹🇭 - (Dec. 2024-Jan. 2025)

2 Weeks🇵🇭 - Mainland (Jan.)

60days🇹🇭 - (Feb. - March)

3days🇲🇾 - Malaysia (March)

and I will go back again here in Thailand with my husband, who has a DTV. We (our infant) are still not under his DTV. Are they not going to hold us when we go back here again in Thailand?

I wanted to say it’s amazing how much conflicting information you can get regarding all the different visa options for entering/retiring to Thailand. I saw someone say if you talk to 10 different agents/experts you will get 10 different results and that appears to be true. So after much reading and deliberation and asking questions here I believe I have finally arrived at the best option; GET DRUNK! No just kidding.

My best bet appears to be the Non-O marriage visa as I am married to a Thai woman. It requires the fewest hoops to jump through and has the smallest amount of required money I need to keep in a Thai bank, etc. I am still not 100% sure if I have to apply online here in The US, or if I can come to Thailand and then apply for the visa, but I am going to go with what Brandon Thurkettle has told me because he seems to be extremely knowledgeable on the subject; I will do the application here and then get the bank account after arriving there and do whatever else I have to to secure our retirement in my adopted country.

Thanks again for all the help and I hope to run into some of you Farangs when we get there in the next couple months. Peace from Seattle, Washington, USA.
