I have worked out everything so will be applying to the embassy in the US for the “O” visa to get my 90 days coming into Thailand which should hopefully allow me to open my Thai Bank Account and transfer the 800k Baht to season for 60 days so I am able to file my one year extension.
My question is I do know the area I think I want to start out and was planning on using Airbnb. I am wondering if this feasible or if I actually would need a more permanent address? I am hesitant to go straight into a one year lease and everything I see all say one year contracts or is there a way to terminate a lease early. Or is there a place to look for shorter term leases?
We are looking to relocate to Thailand via the DTV soft power, ideally in May-June. We have the required funds and stable online income. Our plan was to go for 60 days under tourist visa, look at different areas and decide where we'd fit best as well as locating schools in that area. Then possibly flying to Vietnam to apply for the DTV. What do you do for housing without actually having a long term visa? Just rent short term, pay for classes and hope for the best? Just wondering everyones experiences, and recommended course of action.
I'm planning to spend the Australian winter and summer in Thailand (about 90 days each time) and return to Australia for autumn and spring to maintain my Australian tax residency (since I need to be in Australia for 180+ days per year).
I'm looking for advice on:
1. Visa options – What’s the best visa strategy to cover two 90-day stays in Thailand each year? Would a tourist visa with an extension work, or would a multiple-entry visa be better?
2. Short-term condo rentals – Any recommendations on good platforms or specific areas for short-term condo rentals (90 days) that are reasonably priced and well-located? Ideally, looking for somewhere with good amenities and reliable internet.
3. Best areas to stay – I'd also appreciate suggestions on the best areas to visit and stay for 90 days at a time. I’m looking for a mix of comfort, convenience, and things to do (e.g., beach access, cultural sites, good dining options).
Not sure if this is the right page, but i wanted to ask if there is anyone on here who owns a condo here on koh Samui. We are looking to possibly buy one at the Bay Condominiums near Bangrak, and have a few questions regarding how much we can expect to rent it out at and taxes both here and in Australia that are not being answered well enough by the realestate companies.
Im trying to line up somewhere to rent on my first DTV entry. Does anyone have any recommendations of finding rental spaces for 6 months? Or even month to month. I've been searching on fazwaz and thailand property. Just wondered if there are any others? I am thinking of maybe 2 months in Bangkok and 4months in Phuket on the DTV.
Hello everyone, so if I’m renting my villa out in Thailand on Airbnb short term rentals, of course this is no problem while on a dtv right ? As long as I’m not working in the home cleaning, welcoming guests into the property ect?
Is it easy to rent a condo with DTV Visa for a few months?
For example periods of 2-3 months since I plan to stay 6 months max to avoid being a tax resident and I am thinking of splitting those 6 months during different periods of the year.
Are the prices almost as good as long term rental?
My name is Noni and I’m from London. I am intending to relocate to Thailand in January and looking to connect with women of a similar age to me i.e in their early 50’s.I am looking for suggestions and recommendations for short term rental of a 2 bedroom villa that is convenient to local amenities such as supermarkets, hospitals and beaches) Unfortunately, I am in a situation whereby my husband is currently unable to join me. I would be grateful for any hints and tips concerning visa , banking and health insurance. Thanks in advance…
Honesty and sincerity greatly appreciated and returned,
