Applied for DTV Visa in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 10/13. Additional documentation requested on 10/16 (more bank statements & more recent/clear photo) - submitted these “additional” documents that same afternoon. Vis approval received 10/21.

Just have all of the required documents organized and available, feel free to submit any additional documentation that you feel may help your consideration & give them time to process.

*SN - the additional documentation requested was already included in my original application submission. I included (in my original submission) 3 months of bank statements and a passport image I had taken just a month ago - so when they asked for more, I got a little worried, but just took it in stride. I sent in a screenshot of my current bank account balance + the most recent bank statement (reflecting the required 500,000 baht) & took a “passport style “ selfie right then and there and submitted these as my additional documentation. Worked out well for me, although this may not be everyone’s experience.

Just be well prepared, is my only advice.

My spousal DTV visa was denied:

Your visa application has been cancelled. Wrong country of passport

I'm pretty sure it's because it asks issuing authority and I wrote "United States Department of State" as is on my passport and all they wanted was "United States".

It's annoying because the forms make a big deal about everything matching your passport and double check that everything on your passport is in the form exactly without any mistakes.

Anyway, I didn't know about this group until looking up this problem so at least I know where to look for issues when I apply next time. Better luck next time.

Hi . I applied for DTV workcation visa in Japan. Bank statement also ok. they called me for interview. after 5 days later they give me Touris Visa with multi entry. Is that wrong or shall I ask to embassy !

If I use the agent first year for non o visa in Thailand and decide to deposit 800,000 baht following year, can I renew the visa without the agent or do I need to get a fresh non-o visa (apply outside the country).

Hi. I'm currently trying to help my mother-in-law obtain a retirement visa. She doesn't want to go back to the UK as she no longer has a home there. Some people mentioned that it can be done in countries other than your home country, so we want to know if anyone has had success recently (without using an agent).

We're considering applying for a Non-O Retirement (90-day) visa in Vietnam, then applying for an extension in Thailand. But I'm not sure how we can prove that she meets the financial requirements -she has the 800k in her UK bank account, which she can access through her app. She could print out the bank statements herself, but they wouldn’t be verified by any British authority. I'm planning to contact the Thai Embassy in Vietnam soon, but I’d also like to hear about people’s actual experiences.

I've been on DTV for 1 year now.

I did my first 90 day check in at the immigration office.

I then thought I could do all future 90 day check-ins online, but I tried and it got rejected saying that my first check-in needs to happen at immigration office.

Can someone explain the 90 check-in procedure for DTV please?

If after 180 days we leave the country then return to begin the next 180 days, does that mean the 90 day check-in resets to zero again also?

I have 300,000THB in my bank and I am doing the other 200,000 THB letter of sponsorship from my mum!

Anyone got any tips? Anything in particular to say? I’ve asked chat GBT to help me write a letter and I’ve got her bank statement and the letter is worded well and is formal

Everyone, I would like to use the Soft Power option to apply for a DTV.

For the Soft Power part, I’m considering enrolling in a language school and using it for the DTV application.

A student visa only allows a 90-day stay, and the schools usually require a certain number of class hours, which seems a bit troublesome, right?

If I want to find a Thai language school in Pattaya, is that possible?

Does anyone have any recommendations for schools with good reviews and a nice environment?

Hello, I have a visa question.

I am a US passport holder, currently on an ED Visa (learning thai language). It ends beginning of December. Am I allowed to leave the country for a few days and come back on a visa exempt or will I have issues at immigration since I have just been in the country for 12 months on an ED Visa?

How long does visa exempt last for these days? Still 60 days or have they changed it back to 30 days?

Does anyone have experience on this matter?
