I did my first 90 day check in at the immigration office.
I then thought I could do all future 90 day check-ins online, but I tried and it got rejected saying that my first check-in needs to happen at immigration office.
Can someone explain the 90 check-in procedure for DTV please?
If after 180 days we leave the country then return to begin the next 180 days, does that mean the 90 day check-in resets to zero again also?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day check-in procedure for those holding a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand requires the first check-in to be done in person at an immigration office. After the initial check-in, future 90-day reports can be conducted online unless re-entering the country, which resets the process. Each time you exit and return, the 90-day check-in is considered a "first" report, necessitating an in-person check-in again.

You can report online for the second time only during each cycle of 180 days. When you exit and reenter, you need to do 90-day report in peson again as if it's the first time because everything including 90-day reports resets with reentry.
The “first” report since entering the country - each time. Since most on a DTV will only file one report during the 180 day stamp then all of their reports will be their “first”.
Should you time things so you need to do a second report you can do that online.
Yes, it will reset when you're leaving the country and back. Most of DTVs (except extensions at immigration) are not able to report online. You can fill a second report online just before leaving the country (when filling earlier than 90 days) but that's pretty useless.
