A Muay Thai (soft power) DTV applicant here. My question is, some people claim that I can show the bank statement of my father, some people say it has to be my personal account, family account is not accepted. I read a few posts about people bringing a sponsorship letter from their parents and use their statements for the visa. What was your experience? Did any of you accepted this way?

I’ll likely have to change my retiree visa from retiree to DTV next year because I had to dip into my 800k to take care of an emergent need.

Do I have to go back to the USA to file the DTV e-visa or can I do it closer to Thailand, say in Vietnam?

I have an LLC in the states so I can restart my subcontracting for the DTV. Thoughts?

Edit: My IO is in Jomtiem.

Hello, my non o visa is due for extension on 10 December 2024, under the 800k method. My plan next year is to use the 65k per month when I renew on 10 December 2025. So my question is, if I want to change method, when do I need to make the first 65k transfer please ? My plan is to commence 65k transfers in November 2024 so by the time I try for extension in December 10 2025, I will have 12/13 monthly transfers to show. Does this work? Another question is, I intend to withdraw 400k, 3 months after my 2024/5 extension, do I have to keep 400k until 2 months before December 2025 when I change methods ? Do I put the other 400k back in 2 months before, so that when I change methods in December 2025, I have 800k and 12 months receipts for the 65k method? A long post sorry, I couldn’t see this in previous posts. Thanks

Hello, Im working online as freelancer designer and I receive my payments through Payoneer. I would know if Payoneer bank statements will be accepted by the embassy or it should be a traditional bank. Because my traditional bank is empty and the 500k is available on Payoneer. Thanks.

Marriage visa requirements include maintaining 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account for two years, and the funds must remain lodged in the bank throughout the duration of the visa extensions.

After the second year is completed, can it be withdrawn?

Hello everyone!

I just got my DTV approved at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane. I applied on Monday and just received it today (Wednesday).

It was very, very easy and I highly recommend applying for it there!

All you need is the following:

- Visa Application Form (with 2 x pictures)

- Passport copy of biodata page

- Document showing your current location (driver's license)

- Visa fee of 10,000 THB

- 6-month official bank statement showing a minimum of 500,000 THB

Proof of Purpose of Visit:

- For remote workers: Certificate of Employment, Employment Contract, personal tax return, and payslips (if applicable)

- Professional portfolio showing your business, including your resume/company profile and screenshots/photos of your business

Cover Letter including:

- Cover page and table of contents

- Self-introduction: name, age, passport number

- Statement of purpose

- Details about your company and the nature of the business

- Explanation of your workflow: how your freelance career operates and how you work remotely

- Assurance that you will not take away jobs from locals or take on local clients

But most importantly you need to have an appointment before going there which can be done online (I had booked mine a month in advance).

You can already go early in the morning and drop you application, regardless of your queue number.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Best of luck to all of you!

Being 70 y/o now and only just started drawing my 3 uk pensions, I can easily meet the 65k thai baht p/month criteria for having uk/thai money income/transfer, I also have a decent amount of savings to put 400k thai bht in a Thai bank,. I need to open a Thai bank account and will be entering the country on a 60 day visa exempt stamp and will extend this by 30 days,I have a Residense in thailand also, what’s my best plan of action when I arrive back in a few months time ?,.thanks,.

I’ve been reading comments; and advice given, for several months, from which I’ve learned loads.😊

It lead me to decide to apply for a Non-OA Visa, based on retirement, from the London Embassy, which I received yesterday.😃

I decided on this Visa, to avoid depositing 800,000Baht in a Thai bank, with little interest.

My plan is to exit Thailand, just before the Visa expires, re-enter on a Visa Exemption; and obtain a Non-O Visa, using the monthly deposit system.

Special thanks for the excellent advice given by Brandon Thurkettle and Stuart Cumming.

I’m so looking forward to getting back to the LOS next month.😃
