My spousal DTV visa was denied:

Your visa application has been cancelled. Wrong country of passport

I'm pretty sure it's because it asks issuing authority and I wrote "United States Department of State" as is on my passport and all they wanted was "United States".

It's annoying because the forms make a big deal about everything matching your passport and double check that everything on your passport is in the form exactly without any mistakes.

Anyway, I didn't know about this group until looking up this problem so at least I know where to look for issues when I apply next time. Better luck next time.

"PLACE OF ISSUE"

I know this has been asked dozens of times and I read almost all the posts mentioning it, but the responses are very different.

My passport only has 2 fields that can be interpreted as "Place of Issue":

- "Issuing Country": "BRA"

- "Authority": "DPF/CAS/SP"

My country is "BRAZIL" / "BRASIL"

So what information should I put in "Place of Issue", I've already contacted the embassy and it was not very helpful.

I'm at the confirm your application page and I noticed something off. The first "Passport / TD" line is the country of my passport, and the second "Passport / TD" line is my passport number. The "Number" line is blank, and I'm not sure if that's actually where it's supposed to be. I'm certain I put the number in the right field of the actual application, and every other line here is correct. Has anyone had this happen, is it normal?

And a question about my last name. In my passport it looks like there might be an extra space, so it reads "MC FARREN" instead of "MCFARREN." Maybe it's a typo but my name has only ever been written out like the latter. So I'm wondering if I should just write it as normal, same spelling of course just without the extra space?

I know this all might seem like overthinking but I've seen people get rejected/cancelled for minor things like this and I don't want that to be me 😭 Appreciate any advice, especially people who applied from Jakarta.

Hello,

I was rejected for my application due to a hyphen, even though I used the MRZ. I would love some advice or to hear if this has happened to anyone else:

My last name contains a hyphen, but when I filled in my information, I used the MRZ from my passport, which does not contain the hyphen.

I received the rejection today stating: 'Wrong personal info: missing "-" in the last name on the visa application.'

I am confused as I used the information from the MRZ and did not enter the hyphen in the form.

The hyphen only appears on my passport in the "name" section, but I read that you should always use the MRZ, which does not contain the hyphen.

I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience. I want to reapply, but all the posts I see state that you should use the MRZ, which I did, so confused about what to do and use. Thank you !

Hi folks,

I will be submitting my application later this week, but I had a question regarding one of the fields on the pasport info page.

In the field "place of issue" would I write exactly what is seen on my pasport "dia syd" or should I write the full name "department of Internal Affairs Sydney"?

Thanks for your help

Hi. I’ve just done my TDAC and it was easy and I got my confirmation and QR code straight away,

The only bit that gave me pause was the sub district ( in the address section) because that wasn’t on my accommodation address. So I looked it up on the map. Hope that helps.

So I found out why my application was cancelled automatically by the system.

I inputed all my info correctly, the last thing I did was upload my passport photo and it did its scan and auto filled.

Well I made a mistake by not seeing or miss clicked or something. My application passport expiry was inputed wrong by 1 month.

I am waiting to contact them via phone call. But has anyone else have this experience?

🙏❤️
