Thinking about buying a condo in Bangkok, but as I understand it, it's best to have a thai bank account for the money to pass through. However, I was planning to get a DTV (since I'm too young for a retirement visa) and with the latest changes I understand this prohibits you from getting a bank account (or is not easy anyway). How would I make this work? Is my only option a different visa (which requires more investment)? Or is there some way that if you're planning to buy a condo, you can get a bank account for that purpose?

USA passport holder. Want to retire to Thailand later this year. Age 62, financial is not an issue. Felony record from 46 years ago. If filing for non-immigrant O visa in USA, is there a criminal background check required and/or will I be denied the retirement visa. Degreed professional in medical field and no legal issues since I was age 16. Thanks for any legit insight or personal knowledge.

Hi, the Muay Thai visa, is my 17 year old son eligible or too young? Also, if he can do it, would I be granted a visa alongside him being his parent/legal guardian? Thanks for any advice.

I am going to Vietnam to apply for the non b visa for work, then I will go back to Thailand afterwards.

Read online that its only online now, and you have to be outside of Thailand when you do it, my question is, how would they know if I am outside Thailand or not? (Being that its all done online)

I read that it may be possible that they call you in for an in person interview, but, many people said they havent been called for an in person interview. So besides that, how would they know where I am?

Btw, none of the requirements for the non b visa require you to show exit stamp from Thailand or anything of that nature, so im curious if im able to stay in Thailand while I do it, then after a couple weeks, or however long it takes, then i go out and come back in. Am I missing something?

Among the health insurance brokers operating in Thailand, such as I-Brokers, Pacific Prime, etc.. Which one do you think is the largest and most reliable, with excellent after-sales service, able to support the customer in case of problems with the insurance?

I am trying to decide if I should apply in Jakarta or Manila. It seems like Jakarta is much more popular, although both seem to have similar requirements. Any reasons for that?

Update : The visa finally got approved!! โœ…โœ…โœ…

๐Ÿ—“๏ธMy timeline ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

- 29May : Finished the application almost at midnight

- 30May : "Pending Document Checking 1 "

- 5 June : "Pending Approval 1 "

- 11 June: Visa got approved and received Email

๐Ÿ“ŒTotal working days = 9 days ( I include 2-3June holiday because some people got approved that day too)

Thank you so much to this group that shared a lot of useful information and support!!

------

I would like to know if anybody who apply from Hanoi get approved with more than 5 working days since the status change to "pending approval"

I applied on 29May after office hour then the status changed to "pending document checking" next day 30May

Then 5June status was changed to "pending approval" and no additional documents were requested.

Since the majority of people who post their successful story here got the approval so fast (even they applied after I did mine)

So I just want to know if I should go following up at the embassy or just keep calm and waiting.

TIA.๐Ÿ™
