Should I wait and apply out of country if they have an embassy or is there another way to do this?

British national, Thai bank opened and 800k deposit done along with 1 month 65k plus deposit made.

Asking folks from California…

Does LA consulate require federal authentication for a US marriage certificate when applying for a Non-O spouse visa? I heard that the process can be long.

Hello,

I plan to leave Thailand on October 1 to 10 to travel to Indonesia, so I went to immigration and applied for a single entry for this trip.

In addition, I also plan to leave Thailand again on October 20 to 24 to travel to South Korea.

Therefore, I would like to apply for a new single entry visa again during that time.

Do you know if it is possible to apply for a 2nd single entry visa ?

Because the Multiple Entry visa is more expensive and I will leave the country only twice (so 2000 baht). I have an non immigrant ED visa.

Thank you !

Hello,

Apologies if the following has been asked already recently. I need to apply for Non-O visa based on marriage. I've copied a post from here a few years back and was wondering if it's still the same procedure:

- enter on a tourist visa get stamped in for 60 days

during that time GO to your immigration office with your thai husband and get the hand out listing the requirements for getting the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai

- when you have about a month or so left on your 60 day tourist stamp GO and apply for the 90 day Non-O, pay 2000baht

you'll get a receipt that says to come back in between 14 and 20 days

- go back get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp inked in

THEN you wait until you have 30 days left on that stamp

- go apply for the year extension based on marriage for 1900baht (GET the sheet from your office listing those requirements when you go back to get the Non-O inked in because they're not the same as what you just used )

You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp

- go back on that date and they will ink in the year extension

if you want to you would buy a re-entry permit (single or multiple) after you get the extension so you could come in and out during that year and not lose your extension

That's how it works going from a 60 day tourist visa to a Non-O 90 day visa and then a year extension based on marriage to a thai at your immigration office in country.

Hopefully someone can confirm that this is still the correct procedure? Also does someone have handout listing the requirements? (I'll be applying in Bangkok).

Thank you for your help!

I visited the Immigration Office about getting my Retirement Visa.

My current Non-O Visa will expire before I meet the 2 Month requirement for 800,000 in my Thai Bank Account.

So I have to make a visa run.

Can I go to Myanmar and enter back in on a Tourist Visa and then apply for my Retirement Visa when I meet the 2-Month requirement for my Bank Account?

Payment Options (w/o Thai Bank account)

This comes up a lot in the comments. Please do add or correct, but this info is correct based upon my own personal experience:

TagThai Pay&Tour

- Prepaid credit card

- Can only be loaded at (I think any) Kasikorn Exchange kiosk. (I did in Samui.) Contrary to some comments I've seen, I was able to do with THB, did not have to actually exchange currency.

- Cannot pay Personal accounts with QR code, so that's most small restaurants and shops out.

TrueMoney

- Top up by cash at any 7-11, Lotus, and various pay points.

- Some people have completed the additional verification by uploading a copy of DTV visa and entry stamp under the work permit section of documents. That then allows payment to personal QR codes.

- It's also handy for paying Electricity and Water. (Keeps the history.)

- I have not been able to top-up by credit card since additional verification, but others claim this is possible.

DeepPocket

- CAN pay personal QR code

Load by credit/debit card, cash at BigC or Lotus.

- Pricier fees than the other two.

- (Was recommended to me by a friend who's an expert in payments, so seems to have solid backers, but I'm not personally endorsing this or anything else.)

* Moreta Pay

- Can connect to US bank, do SEPA transfer, or UK Faster Payments, or credit/debit

- No personal QR codes

- Works in other Asian countries
