What is the process of getting a Thai driver's license when applying for a retirement visa? Thank you.

Anyone been on the University Non-Immigrant ED visa for many years 5+? keep renewing no issues? trying to stay indefinitely until retirement age.**Also, what about he SMART visa for making a "phone app" seems like cheapest, easiest, best way?

A friend just extended his free 30 entry by another 30 days in Phuket, Patong beach. I know it is suppose to be 1900 baht but the immigration folk there charged him 2200 baht. Has to be cash and no receipt.

Hi, quick question, we have recently renewed our retirement visa for another year. Yesterday we did our online 90 reporting and it has been rejected with the comment ‘Already do the 90 days’. I’m assuming the visa renewal starts a new 90 day reporting cycle, is that assumption correct?

Hi, my wife & I will be moving to Thailand to retire. We know we have to have THB800,000 each to meet the Non O retirement visa. Do we have to have two bank accounts (1 for my wife & 1 for me) reflecting the THB800,000 each or can we deposit THB1,600,000 in one bank account in both our names?

Here’s an interesting scenario which i’ve never seen discussed….

I own a thai-registered motorbike (with all ownership documents in my name) which I purchased on a tourist visa last year.

For reference, my first ever entry to Thailand was 16 months ago. Since then i’ve stayed for 10months using two 60-day tourist visas (+ extension) and two 30-day visa-exempt entries by air (+ extension).

I’m not working and simply traveling throughout SE Asia with most of it in Thailand.

My next exit will be riding the motorbike to Cambodia or Malaysia and staying between 2 - 6 months. I also just returned from a 3-month Laos trip with the motorbike and re-entered Thailand with a tourist visa.

Is it possible to be “stuck” outside Thailand while owning a Thai motorbike? I.e realistically can i be denied a tourist visa (when applying in neighboring countries Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia) if i meet all the requirements?

Technically I do have to return the motorbike to Thailand so not sure how that would work.

As a backup option, are visa-exempt land border entries guaranteed up to 2x per calendar year (i.e almost like a no questions asked policy)?

If anyone can help me with some advice/info on applying for PR status (permanent residence) or link someone that can, it would be greatly appreciated!

If I apply for Non O immigrant visa for 90 days, must I attach a flight ticket OUT of Thailand within the 90 days or not ?

now that gay marriage will be legally recognised in thailand, what will this mean for spousal visas ? when would changes be put into effect ?

Topic: Transfer from old to new passport + 90 days

Good evening ladies and gents,

* I recently (Friday 8 March) transferred my visa extension from my old passport to my new passport at Chaengwattana Immigration.

* I got told to head to my local immigration in April with the TM47 document to renew my 90 days.

*My days 90 expires on 16 April.

My eventual problem:

* I am flying out on Sun 7 April and returning to Thailand on Fri 19 April.

My questions:

* Do I need to head to my local immigration before flying?

* What is the correct procedure to do this?

* How to avoid penalties?

I know it is maximum 14 days prior or 7 days after due date but feel like this process might be slightly different from what I am used to. I feel like I might have to go twice. Once before flying, and once after flying. Or is this not necessary? I don't wanna end up paying a 2k fine.
