Finally it's my turn to get my DTV approved.

I used Issa Compass as my agent as I don't want to go through all the process with stress - but at the end it was still quite stressful. A week before I leave Thailand, I uploaded all documents which the agent asked for.

1/10 - I left Thailand, fly back to Hong Kong coz I'm HK resident. Uploaded my boarding pass to them on the same day;

2/10 - They submitted my DTV application;

3/10 - They asked for additional document (the ID copied of the HR manager from my remote job and the BR of my company), submitted on the same day;

14/10 - They found out name of the HR manager on the employment contract is not exactly the same like on her ID copied, so they asked for a proof that they are the same person, so I sent them the proof on the same day;

15/10 - I get my DTV approved!

I was a bit unlucky that 1/10 and 7/10 were public holiday in HK so it took longer than it should be? Deducted the holiday and weekend, it took 9 working days (longer than I expected).

Conclusion: If you are not a HK resident, really there is no point to apply from HK. I wanted to save money so I stayed with my parent's apartment but still everything else is insanely expensive. If i can choose again, definitely I will apply from Vietnam. More, probably I will not use agent again, they actually help you to check your document and submission. If you are a detail person you can do as good as the agent and you can always see the status directly from Thai e-visa system instead of waiting for the agent to inform you the status. I doubt if they really submit the stuff immediately and check the status closely.

Hi all,

Any advice or stories of your experience is appreciated.

I'm applying for the DTV visa as a remote worker and will be applying for my wife and son after mine is approved.

We are Canadians and currently traveling abroad.

We have read for fast approval that staying and applying from Vietnam is a good option, however, I've also read that I need to apply from my country where my remote work employment is located (Canada).

Has anyone here applied for a visa through Vietnam with success that is not a current resident there and just staying for a month?

Thanks in advance!

What are people's experience applying from Australia for the DTV using the "Thai soft power" activities and/or medical treatment? In this case dental. As I am not a digital nomad, but otherwise eligible. Thanks 🙏
