What are the entry rules for Australian and British passport holders traveling to Thailand on a tourist visa after cancelling their work permit?

Hello, I'm cancelling my work permit and non-B and my child's Ed visa this week with immigration. We are then exiting to Cambodia to return back here on a tourist visa. I have an Australian passport and my child a British passport. I was told I get 30 days and she gets 60 days both with the visa waiver. I can then get another 30 days after that? We leave here for my new job at the very end of Jan. Is there anything else I need to do/think of? Do I need to lodge any paperwork for the tourist visa or anything? I'm at immigration this week and honestly, I'm worried they won't let us back in on a tourist visa and all my stuff in our house will be lost ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is canceling their work permit and their child's education visa, planning to exit Thailand for Cambodia and return on a tourist visa. They are concerned about the entry requirements and whether they need to lodge any paperwork. Comments clarify that both Australian and British passport holders can enter Thailand for 60 days under visa exemption, which allows for a possible 30-day extension. When executing visa cancellations, it is important to follow the proper procedures to avoid issues re-entering.

Both Australian and British passport holders will be stamped in for 60 days on visa-exempt (not visa waiver) entry now. 60-day Visa-exempt entry is eligible for a 30-day tourist extension one time per entry. You don't need to do anything special to enter Thailand on visa-exempt.

As long as you cancel your extensions properly before you leave Thailand once, usually, you wouldn't have issues entering through northeast land borders. Better to avoid the Poipet/Aranyaprathet border if you want to travel on your own.
