What are the entry rules for Australian and British passport holders traveling to Thailand on a tourist visa after cancelling their work permit?

Hello, I'm cancelling my work permit and non-B and my child's Ed visa this week with immigration. We are then exiting to Cambodia to return back here on a tourist visa. I have an Australian passport and my child a British passport. I was told I get 30 days and she gets 60 days both with the visa waiver. I can then get another 30 days after that? We leave here for my new job at the very end of Jan. Is there anything else I need to do/think of? Do I need to lodge any paperwork for the tourist visa or anything? I'm at immigration this week and honestly, I'm worried they won't let us back in on a tourist visa and all my stuff in our house will be lost ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can enter Thailand on a tourist visa with your Australian passport for 60 days and your child with a British passport for the same duration under the visa-exempt entry. Both entries allow for a single extension of 30 days. To ensure a smooth re-entry, ensure the cancellation of your current visas is handled properly before leaving, and consider avoiding the Poipet/Aranyaprathet border for your return.

Both Australian and British passport holders will be stamped in for 60 days on visa-exempt (not visa waiver) entry now. 60-day Visa-exempt entry is eligible for a 30-day tourist extension one time per entry. You don't need to do anything special to enter Thailand on visa-exempt.

As long as you cancel your extensions properly before you leave Thailand once, usually, you wouldn't have issues entering through northeast land borders. Better to avoid the Poipet/Aranyaprathet border if you want to travel on your own.
