Hello guys, previously, I entered and exited Thailand and obtained a 2-month tourist visa for the second time. Now, I want to extend it again to travel more, but the only option I know about is annual language schools. Is there any other solution for 3-6 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking alternatives to extend their stay in Thailand beyond a 2-month tourist visa. Comments suggest applying for a multiple-entry tourist visa before traveling to Thailand, considering an education (ED) visa while attending classes at an approved institution, or applying for a 90-day Non-Imm-ED visa at a Thai embassy after leaving Thailand. Additionally, the user is encouraged to explore a 30-day extension for their current stay and be mindful of the limitations on consecutive visa-exempt entries.

alternatively you could ask your school fro all the documentation, exit Thailand and apply for a 90-days Non-imm-ED visa at a Thai Embassy abroad. However seeing that most of them now use the online E-visa system, and the processing time will be somewhat like 10-15 days, you would need to get lots of stuff organized

You did not receive a 2-months tourist visa for two times in a row.

*** you got stamped in for a 60-days stay permit when you entered visa-exempt, meaning you did not have a visa when you entered.

So now you already did two consecutive visa-exempt entries, however you did not apply for the 30-days extension for the first 60-days stay permit, and you still haven’t applied for a 30-days extension on top of the second visa-exempt 60 days.

*** what you have to expect – after a few visa-exempt entries there will be the moment when you get pulled aside by an Immigration officer and asked if you think you could live on visa-exempt stay permits in Thailand for a long time

So, applying for the “change of visa type” on Immigration, from the 60-days visa-exempt stay permit to a 90-days non-Imm-ED visa, would be the best idea

*** for this, you need documentation from an approved school and some other requirements must be fulfilled

The requirements are listed under number 3 on the Immigration website for “change of visa type”

For an ED visa you need to actually attend classes and learn so you tie yourself into the location for the duration. It doesn't sound like you've used a 30 day extension yet so your first step would be to immigration for one. After that talk to a border run agency and see if they'll take you for a border run, they'll only take you if they can get you back, and if they can't get you back I wouldn't attempt it yourself

The best solution for you should probably be to applied for a six months multiple entries tourist visa at home before you left. This can only be applied for at your home country or country of legal permanent residence at date and gives you possibility for up to a nine months stay in Thailand.

If you want to apply for a ED visa you’ll need to contact and apply through an approved institution according to the program you’ll like to participate in.
