Chiang Mai, visa exempt (60).
Where do you go to extend (30)?
Anything specific to CM to be aware of? (Only ever extended in Bangkok previously).
Thanks in advance!
Hello.
I was in Thailand from November 1, 2024 - June 1st, 2025? 7 months. I have been outside of Thailand for 3 months. Is it likely that I will have a problem at immigration when returning via Bangkok airport? Have I already spent too much time in Thailand?
Thank you 🙏🏽
Report from London.
Day 1 - Submitted all docs (soft power cooking course)
Day 2 - Asked to book a flight (I hadn't initially) and provide an eticket from the actual airline website
Day 3 - Status changed to pending approval
Day 4 - Visa issued
It was really simple. The main challenge for me was that you can only submit one pdf in each category which has a maximum size of 3mb. Collating and compressing pdfs (ilovepdf is a great help)
My experience was a really simple and positive one. Just followed the application process and was careful not to make typos.
Any Questions then ask away.
hello to you! Question is it simpler and especially faster to get the accompanying DTV? If you've had experience I'm a taker. I have a main DTV, my daughter was well validated leaving France but my wife was refused for an error in entering the file 😡 I didn't write exactly xxxx ep xxxxx but xxxxx/xxxxx. We are in Thailand but my wife is on a tourist visa ducoup we have to go out and apply. Thanks to all of you

If I work for my foreign company (let's say Estonian) from Thailand while on DTV visa (staying more than 180 days every year), but not remit the funds to Thailand bank account, is that income considered Thailand sourced? Do I need to pay any taxes?
I am planning to apply for DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh City. Is it okay if I enter Vietnam from Da Nang Airport and the address is in Da Nang city?
New Passport DVT transfer.
After getting my new passport I wasn't quite sure how it would work transferring the visa over.
I flew out of Suvarnabhumi and as I came down the escalator was directed to the new electronic gates. I explained i would need a stamp in my passport and they still pointed at the gates. Ignoring this i went and joined the line for a human immigration officer.
Once I explained that I had a new passport and would need a stamp, I was escorted to a desk at the back where they transfered the stamp coming in previously and the new exit stamp into my new passport 🥳🥳🥳. No questions, no issues, no problems. They advised to bring both passports when I next enter 👍
Just curious - I know a lot of DTV holders had their Bangkok Bank closed down over the last few months, but has anyone had their bank account closed down in the last few weeks? What I'm wondering is if you have (so far) not had your bank account closed down, perhaps you have escaped / stayed off the list of accounts that are in scope for closure? I would have assumed that if you haven't had your account closed down yet, perhaps you're gonna be ok?
Pending document check means they haven't checked the documents yet right? For soft power there aren't really many documents to check. How can this take such long time?
So many strange experiences are posted here. I would like to share my positive experience:
Came in on 9th August together with my daughter.
The immigration lady was very kind. I had an LTR before on my ex husbands visa. Since he retired and left, I do need my own visa and for my daughter as well.
Btw: applied for a DTV workation (process was very smooth and quick).
The lady just asked: is your husband not working anymore in Thailand. I said: "no, he is retired". No further questions - just the stamp for me and my 16 year old daughter! Great experience!
