Flight number/ accommodation

Hi guys! silly question here!

I'm applying for the DTV Visa Now in November to hopefully have it approved by end of December. My plan is to move in January but I don't have a flight number or accommodation details since I don't know if the visa will be approved in time 🤷🏼‍♂️

I know that for accommodation I can book something and change the date if is needed (if someone can confirm please if is valid to do that) but what I can do about the flight number?

I know I can change the flight and it will cost me about 300 euros but this will interfere at the moment of arrival? Will they also ask for confirmation of the flight? or they just need a flight number?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Have a good one!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the DTV Visa to Thailand, it's acceptable to provide an intended flight number, even if the flight is subject to change. Many applicants have successfully used refundable flight bookings as part of their application. It is recommended to secure accommodation and flight details in advance, especially before the holiday period in late December. Just ensure that any bookings can be adjusted if necessary.

Netherlands is quick at the moment, we got 3 DTV’s in a few days :)

We actually booked the flight and also used it as evidence of current location, so can’t help you with that. They didn’t ask us for actual accommodation booking.

Anonymous participant 373 thanks for the information! Did they asked you for anything else after applying? I have all the documentation (bank statements with the 500THB from the past 3 months, contract from work, current location from a invoice from NS, valid passport, etc)

BrightSunflower8975 no, nothing else :)

I also included 3 payslips, but don’t know if it’s necessary

AND YOU ARE A THAI VISA AGENT?

IF you are... what are your fees and what do you REALLY do?

The DTV visa's primary concern is your intended date of entry into Thailand. Therefore, you should go ahead and secure your accommodation and flight bookings, and then use that information to submit your DTV application.

Since your planned travel date is in January, I strongly advise you to submit your application before December 20th, as the consulate will observe a 5-day holiday period for New Year's.

Depending on where you applied, it's ok to just put an intended flight.

I'm applying in the Netherlands, will it work?

BrightSunflower8975 I have seen flight reservation only needed posts before for The Netherlands. If they actually want to see a confirmed flight ticket, they tend to ask later for it. You can email them to confirm.

I’ve seen some people mention they used a flight that runs around the time you submit “arrival date”

For me I used a flight from

Trip.com that was refundable booked for 25th (not sure if it helped speed things up)

Got approved this morning (4 days) in Hanoi
