Hi all,

Just want to share my DTV process:

21 April - Arrived to Jakarta, Indonesia

22 April - Sent all documents and paid for the visa fee in the evening

29 April - afternoon, the embassy asked me additional information about the bank account where I gave my financial statement. I made a separate letter explaining that my bank used my initials as the name in my account, and indeed that is my personal bank account.

Evening, received an email from the embassy that my DTV request is accepted.

More or less, the process took 5 working days for me.

Many thanks to Settle in Abroad who helped me compiling the documents and answering all my questions. As a new digital nomad with only one client, I was at first pessimist on my success rate, but my experience proves otherwise.

For this DTV holders like me who failed to open a bank account. Have you tried or heard about Tag Thai? Seems like you can pay with QR code thanks to this app. Any feedback from anyone? I want to go tomorrow to subscribe. I dream of not having to go around with cash all the time.

Thanks šŸ™

Out of curiosity:

If you hold a DTV Soft Power, do you have to prove a 5 year course? From what I see on the Internet, the packages normally include a 1 year course plus visa support. What happens on re-entry after this first year? Do you have to book another course?

I know, the DTV isn't old enough to answer this questions. Just wondering ...

HIi,

I applied for the Thailand DTV visa through the official website in Taiwan. The application fee has already been paid, but my visa application was cancelled with the reason:

"Your visa application has been cancelled. Wrong Personal Info: name does not match with passport (middle name)."

However, I’ve double-checked and there doesn’t seem to be any issue with my name.

Does anyone know how I can appeal this? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi guys. I am a Brit with a British passport. I successfully obtained the DTV via the London embassy last year, and then entered Thailand shortly after, getting the 180 day stamp at BKK, as expected. I stayed for 3 months then exited the country. All good.

I was issued the DTV as I was directly employed by a UK company that permitted me to work internationally remote. I provided a copy of my full employment contract and a brief cover letter from my boss.

But, I'm no longer employed by said company. I'm unemployed. But I am in sound financial standing and am considering returning to Thailand soon.

Obviously I still have the DTV as it's valid for 5 years.

Am I 'safe' to enter, even tho I'm no longer employed?

I know they ask for all the docs again when extending, but does anyone who's re-entered on the DTV lately know if they're asking for anything at immigration?

I am super conscious of not breaking any laws/rules. I always wondered how they would know someone reentering on the DTV is still eligible under the original conditions in which they applied. 5 years is a long time and inevitably circumstances change.

Thanks!

I have a question. I arrive in Bali tonight and want to apply for the DTV today or early tomorrow.

I already have all the paperwork that is needed for the soft power Muay Thai, but I have one more question about income.

I don’t work at the moment (due to personal reasons), but as soon as I get the DTV I will get back to it (online)

So I must say that I am unemployed, but I do have sufficient funds for the DTV and able to show for 3 persons if needed (my kids will be added as dependent when mine is approved)

However how would I do this with the application?

I do get benefits from my home country every month and extra every 3 months, which has been enough to live by the past 6 months (without having to dig in to the 500k)

Hello šŸ‘‹

I searched on my problem but found nothing.

I'm going to try DTV as a self employed person. I am a mental health therapist and my clients are mainly in France. But during my trip here (3 months), I had several requests for consultations from French and other nationalities, expatriates and travelers. So my question is: does the DTV allow me to work with clients of any nationality except Thai? Or am I not allowed to work with anyone within Thailand?

Thanks for your answers 😊

Hello friends,

I applied for DTV as remote worker at LA consulate mid March and around 10 days later got a request for more documentation. It’s been more than 30+ days now after submission with no update. I emailed them already 3 weeks post re-submission and still no update on the application. Still says ā€˜pending document check.’ If I get accepted, great. But, if I get rejected, can I walk into a consulate in Taiwan and apply there as a US citizen? It’s unfortunate that the LA consulate has taken as long as it has because I’ve heard from others that the Thai consulates in other parts of the US are processing at a much faster rate. Any advice will be appreciated.
