How long should I wait for financial proof for a DTV application, and what documents do I need as a remote worker?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DTV from Thai Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.

I’m currently working as a short-term remote worker, and I have bank statement showing an amount equivalent to over 500,000 THB. But , this amount was deposited only a month ago.

I would like to ask:

• How long should I wait to be strong financial proof in my account?

• What kind of documents should I prepare and submit as a remote worker?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user plans to apply for the DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon as a short-term remote worker, presenting a bank statement showing over 500,000 THB deposited only a month ago. They seek advice on how long they should wait to ensure their financial proof is strong enough and what specific documents they need to prepare as a remote worker. Responses recommend waiting at least 3 months for the bank statement, exploring other embassies, and highlight the necessity for additional supporting documents to establish proof of remote income.

Search the group for these questions, many people have asked about the 500k and many have provided a list of what they’ve submitted for documents.

Not many have applied in Myanmar but I believe a couple have, so search the group, using the search function at the top!

500k - usually 3 months but if you have a very strong position or financial sponsor it has been possible to apply with funds in the bank for 2 statements (or less in places like London).

Documents - My application for soft power is here, it gives a lot of detail:

For workcation the difference would be proof of income like payslips or invoices, employment contract, business registration, tax return, letter from employer saying you can work remotely in Thailand and won’t work in Thai business, demonstrate what kind of work you do (portfolio, business website, resume, LinkedIn profile)

Wait for 3 months and change another embassy

You won't find much info on that embassy here as most people are avoiding the country itself due to the domestic issues. Many from your country seem to be applying in places like Vietnam
