What advice do I need for applying for a visa in Thailand with limited bank statement history?

Hello!

I recently finished my bachelors degree (remote) and have been in Thailand the past 1.5 years on education visas and visa except in the beginning. I fell in love with the country, a Thai man and Muay Thai.

I did not have 500,000 in an account in my name because I had a company in Germany before and it was safest there while I was abroad. Transferred it now. I can get a recent statement, but not 3 months.

I am planning to add a cover letter explaining my plans etc.

Do you have any advice on embassies (close to Thailand) or general advice?

I appreciate it!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an expat in Thailand, is seeking advice on visa application processes after recently completing their bachelor's degree while on an education visa. They are concerned about the requirement of maintaining 500,000 THB in their bank account for three months, as they just transferred funds from Germany. Community comments emphasize that having the required funds in the account for three months is critical to avoid application denial, though some have noted cases of approvals with shorter timeframes and suggest including strong financial documents in the application.

My partner had funds in his account for 2.5 months and it was ok, applied Hanoi. Search the group at the top for “500k” as someone was just approved in Jakarta with funds in for 2 statements. In London some approved with funds for days / weeks. It depends, but it’s a risk if funds are in under 3 months. But if you have a strong financial position it’s possible, strong income, add savings, investment statements etc, you need to demonstrate tour story simply so they can understand. Or get a sponsor letter from someone saying they will be financially responsible for you and add 3 months of their bank statements with a strong balance.

Jakarta, Hanoi, HCM still seem to be the best places.

Our application from Hanoi:

Thailand isn't a country that does exceptions. Nobody in the chain of command who sees your letter has the power to do it and nobody will bother escalating it.

Find a way to wait the 3 months and apply then otherwise you will waste your application fee.

wait for 3 months

Wait for three month then apply is better; but if you are in rush, fyi our recent case last week in Jakarta approved with latest 2 months statement over 500K + solid application preps.

I’d suggest you to wait till 3 to play safe.

You're going to need that money in an account for 3 months or you will probably be wasting your application fee.
