Not sure it's needed. As far as I can tell this lad just wants to turn up once every couple weeks. If he proves he's funds he only ever needs the exemption.

If you mean you'll work 2 weeks then fly to Thailand for 2 weeks over and over... yes it's possible and I want whatever job pays for that!

Well I am. You can't work online without a work permit. The law is so strict that you can't answer a work email. We all know it's different in practice but I'm just answering the original question about legality.
