Can I extend my multi-entry non O visa for 'visit Thai family' a second time or must I claim 'unable to travel due to Covid'?

Hi, I had a multi-entry non O visa based on marriage to Thai that is now expired. I previously extended it on the basis of ‘visit Thai family’. I am now coming up to the time of having to extend again. My question is, can I extend a second time for ‘visit Thai family’ or do I have to use ‘unable to travel due to covid’?

Immigration office is Cheangwattana.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about extending their expired multi-entry non O visa based on marriage to a Thai national. They previously extended this visa for visiting family and were unsure if they could do so again or if they needed to apply under COVID-19 provisions. Responses indicated that only one 60-day family visit extension is allowed per arrival, and suggested seeking a one-year extension or consulting with the Cheangwattana Thai Immigration office regarding potential COVID extensions.

My situation is exactly the same and I will go tomorrow and see if it will be possible to get another extension due to Covid 19.

you should be able to apply for a 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension

, thank you for the update, going to Chaeng Wattana today.

Sorry...only ONE 60 days family visit extension per arrival at CW.

You need to either seek the one year extension with financial requirements met or visit CW Thai Immigration to ask about a COVID extension.

would this be more like a tourist extension? ie- going to MTT? Or still CW because of my type of visa when I entered?

thanks, that’s helpful, was wondering if my original visa played a part or not! Although I have not had a ‘covid’ related extension yet (just the one I was entitled to on the visa) I’ll give CW a go tomorrow.

ok, IF you have a non-immigrant type visa you use Chaengwattana for ANY type of extension you're getting from it.

As people pointed out you can ONLY get one 60 day "visit family" extension so your two options are meet the financial requirements and apply for a year extension OR apply for a 60 day unable to travel due to covid extension. Chaengwattana is where you go if you're in Bangkok, Good luck
