In these raids, do they distinguish between foreigners who have not done a 90 day report and those who have not had their landlord do a TM30? Is there any evidence of how the fine is applied (on the spot?). My friend lives at the River Condo which was raided by Immigration a few weeks ago on two successive days. He was advised that his landlord should have filed a TM30 but wasn't fined as everything else was in order.
Thanks. Good to know they are continuing (so far) not to require a TM30 from foreigners doing extensions, 90 days and re-entry permits. One wonders how they will cope if they do change the requirement!
In Bangkok transferring Extension of Stay stamps and Re-entry permits is free. It takes around 30 minutes to actually do it, although you may have to wait in line for a long time if it's busy.
Your employer will need to produce documents supporting your dependents' application to piggy-back on your extension, and you will need a legalised/certified marriage certificate and birth certificate for your child. That's what I had to provide in Bangkok; other Immigration Offices might be different.
I have a Lao wife too, and our son is only British. His school prefer the kids to have visas/Extensions and he's always piggy-backed on my work extension, as does my wife. I don't think it's a great idea for kids to have overstay stamps, even if they are not fined, especially if they'll be living/studying in Thailand for a long time.
