In next few week i will be going back to the uk to get a new passport and to get a 1 year multiple entry non-b.obviously i will need to get paper work from the lawyer before i leave but will have different passport number on the paperwork and on my work permit when i get a new passport.

So should i apply with my old passport and then get a new passport as a note it only has 4 blank pages left?

Or do i get new passport then apply for the visa or will this cause problems? Anyone had experience with this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to apply for a 1-year multiple entry Non-B visa with their old passport, which has only 4 blank pages left, or to wait until they obtain a new passport with a different number. Community responses suggest that it is possible to apply with the old passport, and to explain the situation to the embassy or consulate by providing both passports during the application process. It's also advised to gather necessary documentation from a Thai lawyer before applying. However, some users recommend exploring the possibility of sorting out the visa in Thailand instead.

Get all the documents with old passport number from your Thai lawyer, go to the UK, apply for new passport and ask a letter that this passport is a replacement of passport nr ....... Fill your application for the Non Immigrant B visa and show this letter.

Should not be an issue. Just send the old passport off with all the documents and explain why you are getting a new passport and why the documents have the old passport number.

Then you have no choice. But 4 pages is enough for a new visa or Extension. Then get the new passport and transfer the Extension. As Ron says, you can't transfer the visa, but it remains valid in your old passport.

Any paperwork prepared by your lawyer will not have your new passport details in it.

Do it here first.

Do you have to go back to the UK? It might be easier to sort out your nonB/Extension here, then get a new passport here. It's then straightforward to get the Extension transferred to your new passport.
