One of the things immigration has to check, is if the marriage is de jure AND de facto. Hence all the paperwork and checks.

If you are over 50 years old, it's not very likely to change, hence less paperwork

Why is it that if you are a woman married to a Thai man, you don't have to show money at all? 🤔

Because one of the requirements for an 1 year extension is that you have a non-immigrant visa

You can get a non-immigrant O visa inside Thailand. But the normal thing to do is to get it in your home country.

An O-A visa can only be obtained in your home country, and is ALWAYS multiple entry.

You can probably stay for a long time through corruption and by paying the price asked.
