I am an Australian citizen, aged 56, and my spouse is 50. We are currently in the early stages of applying for a Non-Immigrant Visa Type O Retirement Visa, which allows for a 90-day stay with the option to renew for up to one year. I would appreciate any insights from couples who have recently successfully obtained this visa.

Hi, I am currently in Da Nang, Vietnam where there is no Thai embassy and consulate. Would it be possible to get a visa exemption when I arrive at the airport in Bangkok and then purchase a 30 day visa extension on the same day from the airport? Any advice is welcome! (I hold a British passport btw). Thank you and happy new year! šŸ™‚

My wife (Thai national) and I arrived a few days ago. I just got the 30 day visa on arrival.

If I wanted to stay on another month have I got an option to do so? I was reading on some forum that the 30 day visa on arrival can only be extented for a further 7 days theses days is this true?

Thanks šŸ™‚

Greetings: Iā€™m planning to move from US to Thailand in January, and living with my girlfriend in Ayutthaya where she owns a home. I canā€™t determine whether I can arrive on my passport and apply for a visa there, or whether I need to get one before I arrive. Further, the reading Iā€™ve done on Thai visas doesnā€™t seem to fit my circumstances. I want to eventually generate some income and will want a work visa, so a retirement visa is out. I would like to avoid having to leave every 90 days, and be able to renew in country. Iā€™m ready to just hire a visa service to help me. Love to hear any advice or experiences from those who had similar circumstances.

Hi all, just looking for some advice regarding the covid extension for the visas.

I have had to leave the current school I work at in the middle of my contract due to a dispute. As Iā€™m currently on a Non B visa could anybody explain the process of what I have to do now? Iā€™ve looked online and thereā€™s a bit of conflicting information and I also never know what to believe there either haha. Iā€™m in Bangkok too if that helps.

Thanks a lot.

Hi all,

I have a long question that may just have a simple answer. I'm a teacher moving to BKK in July and my school is processing visas for myself and my son. The reason they are not processing my husband's at the moment is because he is trying to get the M media visa. In the event that he doesn't get it, we are worried that the school might not have time to get him a dependent visa. If he comes over with us with just a tourist visa then, how hard is it to convert it to a dependent visa while we are over there? Or would he have to leave the county? I am American, and he's French. Thanks!
