Get a letter from Immigration it only costs 500 baht. I did it on a tourist visa at the Bangkok Bank. I've read that the banks are now reluctant to open accounts for US citizens, due to the US governments requirements.
Strange I just received the exact same message? It's not a scam and it came from the actual Visa address, I'm sure it's a glitch in their system. I received my visa months ago.
I argued with airport immigration I was only given 57 days for a 60 day visa. We both had a good laugh and I was pointed towards the cashier. Not worth the aggravation. Worth noting they didn't give me an overstay stamp and I kept the argument very lighthearted.
I went to immigration with proof of residence and paid 500baht for a letter. Opened an account at the Bangkok Bank. To open a wise account I needed to be in my home country.
It would seem by the comments the TM30 hasn't been explained. When every immigration office has a different interpretation of how it's managed, there isn't an easy interpretation. People need to figure out how their district office wants you to deal with it.
