Based on all of the comments I would say this is a user problem not a Wise problem.

if you have “stacks of cash,” then I don’t think you’re worried about the minuscule exchange fee your bank card charges.

Why does someone need a bank account on a 60-day entry stamp?

I mentioned this elsewhere but the restrictions of setting up an account in Thailand far outweigh the ability to use QR.

This is really to adopt more local users in Thailand.

Erik Tiger I’m talking about creating a wise account in Thailand, using your Thai address rather than your home country.

Andrew Romine yes I believe this only applies to accounts in Thailand.

Not worth creating a Wise account in Thailand if you don’t have one yet. They have some heavy restrictions:

- You'll no longer be able to use Wise to transfer money between two overseas bank accounts outside of Thailand.

- You'll no longer be able to send non-THB currencies from your Wise account (e.g. USD, GBP) to an overseas bank account. You have to convert to THB then send it (2 currency conversions)

Do not update your address to Thailand, this would be an inferior experience compared to what you have now.

I assume you want a debit card from wise issued in Thailand? They won’t mail a card to you other than what’s listed as your address on your account.

I did this, but I was already a customer from my home country and I asked customer support to change my address and they issued me a new card.

Colin Boyland Why not? Some large checked luggage are larger than a medium sized box.

Depends what you’re moving with and how much you really “need.”

Most rentals are furnished so don’t take any large pieces with you, not even TV.

I sold or gave away everything that wasn’t important and packed my whole life in 2 moving boxes and 2 suitcases. I paid the extra baggage fee.

lol, I had a bit of an existential crisis on that cab ride to the airport because I worked so hard for the home, car, and other things I filled them with that I thought defined my sense of self-worth and success.

That was 8 years ago. I no longer define my self-worth through the things I own (mostly) and I’m so glad I accepted that job offer.
