Q: I own this Honda CT125. I’m thinking of importing from AU to Thailand as it’s a hard to buy bike and set up for my dog.
Is it worth the hassle and will it cost a bomb in transport and duty to bring it in?? TIA for advice

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among community members is that importing a Honda CT125 motorcycle from Australia to Thailand is not worth the hassle or cost. Many forum participants highlight that similar bikes are readily available in Thailand, often cheaper than imported models, and some claim it is illegal to import used vehicles. It's suggested to buy a new or used bike locally and to bring only necessary modifications for pets, such as a custom dog carrier.
is there a good bike sales website you can recommend?

Hi Brett, a motorbike here is about 75,000baht to 150,000 baht. I’m in hua hin and for a new drone , I payed 115,000 baht. Check to see how much they will charge you ship. If your bike is in great shape and the price is lower than buying a new one.

Its actually illegal to import any used motorcycles or cars to Thailand.

No it isn’t worth the hassle. There are heaps of secondhand bike dealers in Thailand. It easy to buy register and insure… and apply for a driving license. It’s worthwhile doing all those things as you will be stopped for sure. That can get expensive!.
I would never in Thailand buy a used motor bike. Not the way they take care of them. New one with a warranty is the only way to go. Just saying!

If anyone knows how to transport anything on a bike… it’s the Thais and Vietnamese. Your dilemma is a two minute solution for those guys.
