Same as
@Steve ******
. I have my one account with 800,000 and that I just don’t touch. It’s a fixed account that it gets a little bit more interest.

My savings passbook account is where I transfer my pension into every month so eventually, I can get the 800,000 back .

Similar experience at same bank. They also wanted a Residency Certificate that I got at immigration fairly easily.

Most banks will want you to go to immigration office and get a residency certificate. Not very complicated.

I flew to Cambodia where the hotel rooms are only $30 a night. I applied for the E online visa through the Thai embassy (non-o immigrant). Had to stay there two weeks, but it was very cheap. Returned with my Visa in my email.

@Jim *******
was there something specific about how the transfer needs to be labeled? I probably will do it through Wise.

I was in the same position when I came in January. Pretty much unless I used an agent I was not going to get a non-0 visa while I was in Thailand. I actually had to go to Cambodia and file for the E Visa online the day. I got there. It took Tuk 10 full business days so I was actually there for two weeks. Fortunately hotel rooms are ridiculously cheap in Cambodia.
