I wonder why a language school would risk losing its credibility over saying there is 3 options. I have plenty of money but I do not want to open a Thai bank account if I don't have to. My money makes far more in my brokerage account. I'll have to drill them a little more tomorrow. They did say it was a real visa with stamp.

I keep hearing about the 2 you mentioned, but I was told there is one more where you don't need to show either. My language school said there is a 3rd option. You pay a little more, but don't need to put money in Thailand bank. True or should I be concerned?

you'll be fine. Only thing I say is try to talk to as many Thais (who also speak English) as you can while learning. Force yourself to use even small things in Thai like greetings, thank you, directions, offering food. It's crazy that one word can mean different things depending on the tone. You can say someone is beautiful or a cow of you use the wrong tone lol. Good times!!!!

if you pick the right school they'll do most of the paperwork for you. You just need to show up on the day at immigration with your school rep with $2000 baht. Pay and return 2 weeks later for your stamp. I went with ALA language school and so happy I did. They have been so helpful with all the paperwork and visa. Learning Thai has been a little harder than expected for me, but I'm American and can barely speak proper English lol.

this will get you 90 days. Then you need to go back to immigration to evaluate what you have learned and pay another $2000 baht for another 90 days. You must be enrolled in a school. Do not listen to clowns who tell you that you do not. Your school has to turn in attendance to immigration.

yes. The cost of Ed visa when you go to immigration is $2000 baht. The cost of your school is entirely a different thing.

the Ed visa is 2000 baht. The cost of school night be 20k. You're thinking of 2 different things. You need to be enrolled in a school to get the Ed visa which is $2000 baht at immigration.

book directly in their site. Ana.com Koreanair.com.

I found their prices in main website same or cheaper than 3rd party. ANA typically has one flight a day deep discount in their site. Btw I don't recommend exit seats. Yes a little more leg room, but it's right next to bathrooms and steward galley. Didn't sleep at all in my flight that I choose these seats. Lesson learned for me.

There really is only 2 airlines he should consider. ANA or Korean Air. The layover means nothing, since he most likely won't be able to leave the airport. ANA flies though Tokyo, and is the shortest time he'll be over the ocean and sitting on a plane (11.5 hrs). Tokyo airport is a great layover airport with food and showers.

Korean air is over the ocean for about 13 hrs flight time. Biggest economy seats I've flown coming to Asia over 15 times. Great layover airport. Free showers. Massage, movie theater. Others will tell you airlines that fly through Singapore, but I would never want to be on a plane for 15 hrs. Plus I am not sure Singapore is still doing all their covid requirements do transit through. Personally i would choose ANA. I don't like being on airplanes that long, especially over a ocean. So I take the shortest route.

Try amitriptyline 10mg. I used to take Ambien in the US and this is the closest I've found for sleeping through the night fully. And it can be bought at pharmacy cheap. 10pills for $40 baht.
