I’m a US citizen currently living in Spain on a student visa. I want to go straight from Spain to Thailand once my visa is up. I’d love to apply for my DTV online but I’m worried that might be complicated since I’m not in my country of origin. There is a Thai consulate in Madrid but it’s kind of far from me.
Has anyone had experience of applying for the DTV online in a country they are temporarily living in? Is it possible or spoils I just go to the Madrid consulate? I’d love to know your thoughts ✨❤️
I’m currently in Thailand on a student visa, which expires on April 13. Can I fly to Da Nang, stay in my family’s apartment, and apply for the DTV (Soft Power Muay Thai) online through the Thai embassy in Hanoi? Or do I need a hotel booking in Hanoi?
Hi! Has anyone enrolled their follower kids in an international school? I’ve been told that my kids need a student visa, even though they are my followers on the DTV visa.
Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for your help. I’m currently on a student visa and planning to apply for a DTV visa in July. I understand that I’m not allowed to work on a student visa, but I’ve recently been offered a remote job from abroad. I would like to switch to a DTV visa to ensure that I’m fully compliant with the laws in Thailand.
My questions are:
1. How can I show proof of my salary (which will be paid through SWIFT to my Thai bank account) given that I’m not currently allowed to work on a student visa?
2. Over the past three years, I haven’t paid any taxes because I was on a student visa. I’ve been living off savings from my previous job. If they ask for proof of tax payments, how should I handle this situation?
I’d greatly appreciate any advice, suggestions, or alternative approaches. Thanks!
I just wanted to go ahead and share my experience. I have been living in Thailand for two years now initially just doing boarder runs and then on a 1 year student visa. My student visa ended in September 2024. I did a boarder run to Malaysia and came back on on a 60 day exempt and extended another 30 days. I left Thailand December 20th. I applied for my DTV visa in Vietnam was approved under the workcation category. I entered Thailand and was denied entry initially. I had an interview/interegation my Thai language was tested. I do know quite of bit of Thai but didn't understand some of the questions asked and ultimately failed my interview. They asked for my outgoing ticket I didn't have one I bought a ticket on "OnwardTicket" that I have used in the past with no issues. This time didn't work and was denied entry all together. After my case being transferred to another officer and almost deported. I paid an additional 20k baht and was finally let in the country. Don't know if there was really an issue or just wanted bribe money. But Just thought I'd give a warning to those in similar situations.
Hi everyone, currently on student visa but want to change to DTV. I read that i can only apply for the visa outside of thailand. After the student visa is cancelled how long i have to stay outside the country 60 days or 90? i always get confused.. Khop khun krap
I'm a Freelance and I've been living in Thailand since February 2022 with tourist + student visa (so definitely a LOT of stamps on my passport haha)
My last student visa ended on the 14th of December 2024. I'm back in France and plan on applying for a DTV visa to come back to BKK on the 23rd of January
My question: as I was previously on a student visa and not supposed to work in Thailand, how do I explain being a freelance and showing them my company registration/invoices for the last couple of months when applying for the DTV visa? 🫠🫠
Not sure if it's a legitimate question or if my overthinking brain is doing its magic again so I figured I'd ask!
Can someone please explain what is better, faster and easier for two freelancer parents and 2 teens, who are already enrolled to international school in Phuket and plan to stay for 6 months before moving to another destination: dtv or student visa? We are still outside of Thailand, but coming in February and already have school and rented house. Both self employed. In July move to Australia, so don't really need visa for 5 years
