Depending how close you live to a consulate in the UK. How I mentioned can certainly be the most convenient way.

Visa exempt, 30 days for free then extend at immigration for 1,900 baht for an additional 30 days. If you don't have a history of abusing this system and haven't been to Thailand dbefore that's the most convenient way to do it
