how does work a visit if the immigration officer at home to obtain a non-O visa and what is the main purpose of this visit?

When doing your second 12 month visa extension based on marriage, does anyone know if the immigration officers want to come to your home again, personally I can not see why they would.

Question: Just applied for non o marriage year extension on Monday is it okay to travel out of town for a few days or do you have to sit home and wait? Thanks

Oh well we’ve been living in Thailand over 5 years now and we’ve just had our first ever immigration home visit. For our renewal of EofS marriage. It’s seems some people especially in the capital BKK get a visit every year but this was our first in 5 years. So this was a new experience for us. It was all very pleasant. Three IO’s two male one female. We signed a few documents and spoke and they took a few photo of us all in the garden. We didn’t move from the outside garden area at any point. and a photo of us at the gate entrance. All in all they were here about 35 mins and very relaxed pleasant experience. I'm just back from chaenwattana with an under consideration stamp (Thai wife).

Will immigration actually come to my house to check?

Will they really ask my neighbors?

Anybody out there that has done this on Cheangwattana that can share the experience?

I've applied for my first ever Non-O (Married to Thai) one year extension using the 400k in bank method at Chaengwattana on 16th Nov. I need to go there again on 14th December to get the final stamp. From various sources I have come to know that in case of first time extension, the immigration gives you a home visit within the under consideration time. Now there's two days left to go and I haven't got a call or visit from immigration yet. Should I be worried? Finally thanks to Tod Daniels for encouraging me to apply for the extension by myself. I had the impression that it was a very hard process if I was to do it myself. But actually it was very easy if you've got everything you need.

Thanks in advance for the advice! I am located in Chiang Mai, earlier this year I was on a yearly Non-B Visa Extension for work canceled May 1st. I then went onto amnesty and in August I received a 60-day family extension which expires November 26th based on advice from this group.

I completed my wire transfer of 400,000 THB from the US to my Thai account on August 7th so I would like to apply for a 12-month extension of stay based on marriage on October 7th. I believe I have all the paperwork in order for the extension but I would like to confirm the process of getting the extension as it is my first time.

My understanding is that because I was previously on a long-term extension from a Non-B visa I don’t need to apply for a change to a Non-O visa and I can apply for a 12-month extension based on marriage.

- When I apply for the 12-month extension based on marriage on October 7th will I receive a 1 month under consideration stamp and be asked to come back November 7th to get the remaining 11 months stamped in? Would the 12-month extension begin October 7th the date I apply or November 26th the day my current extension ends?

- Should I expect to schedule a home visit sometime during that one month under consideration period on October 7th when I apply for the extension or will Immigration officers just show up at my home sometime during the under-consideration period?

- Also, do I need to maintain the 400,000 balance throughout the 1-month consideration period? I transferred about 450,000 THB and I haven’t touched it. Once I apply for the 12-month extension can I use some of the transferred money as long as the account doesn’t go below 400,000?
