Just wondering if the "30 days under consideration" for extensions based on marriage is always 30 days?
My predicament is that I'll arrive for my last entry on the visa around the a week before my "enter before" date marked on my visa, and I'll only be staying for 21 days due to work commitments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The '30 days under consideration' period for extensions based on marriage is generally standard; however, it can be extended to 45 or 60 days if you request this during your application, especially if you'll be leaving the country during that time. It's important to coordinate with the immigration office to ensure compliance with their requirements and to be present for potential in-home visits while your application is under consideration.

I know a LOT of people on a work schedule similar to yours and they can never been IN country long enough to get the application for extension in, and stay for the under consideration period AND coordinate an in home visit too.
Most of them just stay on the year-long, multi-entry Non-O's from Savannakhet Lao or Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam..
Yeah sounds like I'll be doing the same. Do Savannakhet ever scrutinise the amount of visas issued from there for marriage or is it different from the tourist visas?
Yes, I have the Multi Non O based on Marriage but I don't bounce every 90 days because I work away for 6 weeks then come back to Thailand for 3 weeks on a rotation.
I'm leaving Thailand today, so I'd be back around the 24th/25th Feb for 3 weeks. My enter before date is the 11th March 2019.
It doesn't look like I'll be able to achieve what you mention above and I'll look at going to Savannakhet for another multi entry visa on the once this one has expired.
Once you apply for a yearly extension you'd need a new re-entry permit to cover you for the under consideration period if you needed to leave/come back during that time. AND you'd have to coordinate with the immigration office to make sure you're in country when they come to do the in home visit.
When you apply for the year extension, you can ask if they can give you a 45 or 60 day under consideration stamp IF you're not going to be here when the 30 days rolls around.
You're comin' in a week before that visa expires so you'll get 90 days when you stamp in.
Leaving the country 21 days later will cancel that stamp UNLESS you get a re-entry permit BEFORE you fly out, then you'd get stamped back in for the 90 day stamp you got on your last bounce.
You would apply for a yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your 90 day stamp. So you can't apply for a yearly extension until 2 months AFTGER your last bounce to get a 90 day stamp.
I've seen it run as long as 6 to 8 weeks IF the immigration office doesn't get the paperwork back from the head office (if you're applying at a smaller immigration office).
