Even Thai companies use agents. They're for people who are busy and don't have time to spend hours and hours at immigration or other government offices.

You realize it's harder to get a visa than a bank account, right? Ask for basic intellect, not strength.

She's right. It's easy to get a visa when you have the right paperwork. I got a non-O for myself and my wife without an agent simply by giving them the paperwork they asked for. It took 5 days. I've had the same experience in Cambodia, China, and Vietnam. When you have the right paperwork they have no reason nor motive to reject you.
