Anna Brodley actually you are not accurate..again...you gave advice about getting a bank account and it was not accurate. on paper yes,but in working practice it was bad information. You say you been here many years but remain up to date.,but you dont and your advice ,if followed isn't spot on. The OP mentioned Laos and what address and you say is all in line. Yes it's all on line but in Savannakhet and Vientiane, you apply on line BUT..you Have to go physically to The thai consulate to make the payment against an issued QR code before the visa application will be processed. In Vientiane there's are actually two locations the thai government have so obviously have to go to the right one.

Again here You say the bank account opening should not be an issue when it is at the moment. Let your visa expire...start the process again as a new a nd inexperienced person and see how easy it is to get the bank account and let us all know.

You really should be more careful with your advice as people may believe you.

i got mine early June and think I was lucky to do it then. That's why I want to stay away from agents if I can for all the things I need as maybe will be a clampdown on what they do and if things get more difficult their prices will of course rise I guess

even with that it may still be hassle getting a bank account. Just done the process. Three of the biggest Thai banks refused bedoe krungsri 👍 agreed
