Jan Kenneth Nesland yes, I never had to show any financial proof. They don't even ask my husband how much he makes. But I was thinking maybe they changed it this year.

I married to a Thai man and he learned Swedish when we lived in Sweden and therefore it's my turn to learn thai now when we live in Thailand. But honestly I found it a bit disrespectful to live in a country and not learn the language. Also you will understand the culture even better by learning the language. I'm not fully fluent yet but I'm determined to be. I can read and write thai. My husband is my biggest supporter and he makes me read everything. He also makes me fill in forms at the hospital ect. Just so I can practice. He said to me to start with the alphabet and that's what I did. Languages are hard to learn. You just have to not give up. My biggest challenge is to have the courage to speak more. I'm very shy. But I'm getting better. My husband asks me to order food etc. Don't give up, you got this! 💪

I would go to a different branch. Maybe they have more experience with this.

Tauan Allemagna neither in Khon Kaen. They did not even ask my husband what he did for work or how much he makes every month. I think they just assume that he makes enough to care for me

I'm a western woman married to a Thai man. I've been here on a marriage extension for 5 years and never have then asked my husband for any proof of income or savings. Neither have they asked me. It's not required if it's a foreign woman married to a Thai man.

Marty Pollard yes, it's always good to ask that question. However you can ask one person that question and the day you get to the bank it may be another person serving you and they have their rules. Then they will ask for more documents. It's not only that every branch has its own rules. The staff also have their own rules. It can be very frustrating. I'm lucky to not have any problems yet with BKK bank
