They will issue an ED visa in Chiang Mai if you are prepared to go through the long process and pay up 8000 baht extra. However, your best bet right now Shelley Louise is to explain the situation to your embassy as calmly as possible, if they are understanding they will give you a letter to allow you to process an extension and give you more time. There may be different options at the end of the month.

I've been last week - you need two photos, two copies of every page in your passport, TM30 with Chiang Mai address if you don't have one in your passport already, 2 copies of embassy letter. Then you just need to be patient! You do this at the Promenada immigration so you will need your own transport to get out there. TM30 you must do at the main immigration if you haven't already.

The best way is for you to go there and ask. They always send you away the first time anyway. So if you're lucky you can get it all done in two goes.

You should be able to change your flight (most airlines have a provision for this due to the situation) and you should also find out if the airline you booked with has been cancelling their flights.

Yes I did. And also applied for a second extension with embassy letter due to Covid. But the second time they just gave me 17 days and during that time the Amnesty was announced, our district was in lockdown, so I did not go back to immigration and have been wondering what to do / how to stay here longer. Just before the emergency declaration I found an organisation that could sponsor me for the O visa (letter and government registration) but now I am unsure if that is possible. But since non-immigrant work visas are being processed, I am hopeful!

Initially, yes. But the last time I came in it was just a stamp in the airport.

I was previously on a tourist visa (see comments above) and am currently on amnesty. So I am wondering whether it is possible to stay in the country by applying for the volunteer visa. I heard that it is now possible with ED visas and work permits but have heard nothing about the O visa.

I am currently under the Amnesty. Will that affect my chances of getting this approved? I was previously on a tourist visa which expired April 3rd
